Nice choice on the No. 89. I also picked it up at T&H Chicago a couple months back. It is my favorite scent. As a matter of fact, my wife commented just this evening how much she really likes it. I love it because it is different than the other mass marketed scents you find in most department st...

I have had the same exact thing happen to me with a few different brands of creams. For example, I often have the same thing happen with Art of Shaving creams...damn shame too. It was really bad with T&H Ultimate Comfort, but I can use Trafalgar, though not every day. I know what you are going t...

I hear ya. BTW, what kind of facial soap do you use? I also think that we need to remember that there also high quality modern style products that are just as good as the high quality creams. I don't know Mr. Bond, perhaps the GL cream does fall into that category. Gordon, are you familiar with the ...

Mr. Bond, I have tried several types of products...both modern brushless and traditional creams. Here's my take. Use what works best for you. And you know what? Life's too damn short to worry about whether or not one brand of shaving cream vs. another is going to be better for your skin. Use what yo...

OK, now after re-reading this a few times, I see why you are all upset about this. Like I said, I just have been lucky enough not to have experienced the problem. Sorry if I was being a pain in the ass about it. That was not my intention. That's why I'm here so that I can learn and weed out all the ...

I guess, I just don't see what's so bad about some of these creams as of late...maybe I've just been lucky. All of the products I've been getting seem to be fine, including the T&H cream I recently bought. I've been using T&H creams (along with several others) for years. They don't seem that...

Honestly, gentlemen, we're actually probably worrying about nothing. Of course these vendors are going to improve their products on a regular basis. They had better if they don't want to go broke. I enjoy many traditional creams as well. In fact, I just bought some T&H Trafalgar the other day an...

Update here... I ended up getting a couple new creams. I got a tube of Trumpers coconut, even though the wife hates the smell. I did not really find that this cream did much of anything. It was OK, but not great...could be the re-formulation you are all complaining about. I also took the Mrs. with m...

Great post. I really enjoyed it and found it helpful.

One question for you guys. I keep seeing all these posts about the reformulations of all of these creams from the 3 T's. Are they really that bad??? As in I should probably not buy them as they are not worth a damn anymore? What happened to them?

Thanks Gordon. Excellent post and very helpful. I really appreciate your taking the time to answer what probably seems like a dumb and redundant question. I understand what you mean by why traditional creams may be a little better now. Thanks as well for your reccos. Are there any creams that you wo...

Thanks Garreth. My name is Dave. Thanks for asking. I can understand and appreciate what you mean by using creams that have been working for many many years. I guess part of my questioning/thinking probably comes into play because I'm also kind of new tech guy, i.e. I'm really into new developments ...

I guess you're right. It really should not matter to much anyway. I think part of it on her end is that she is most likely trying to push me to use quicker products as she's currently somewhat of the notion that a guy should look good but not need to be over the top primping, which she kind of think...

Sorry, I had not read the last 2 posts after Chris'. Thank you both for your comments as well. I agree that it's all subjective. I guess I just find it interesting that I have to discover forums like these to learn...that you only find the newer stuff at department stores...and from what I am kind o...

Thanks Chris. This was a very helpful post. What I liked most was that you were able to provide your comments to some of the creams I have tried. I may end up trying Taylors. As I said, I also liked the Nancy Boy cream...despite the name. What appeals to me is the ingredients. Trumpers is another on...

Thanks guys. You made some really good points. Makes sense. I'm 33 and find that I am at that point in my life where I want to appreciate finer things, but at the same time still have a youthful spirit. If I were to try one particular traditional type cream any outstanding ones you recommend I try? ...

I need some help here

Hello all. I can use your help. There are so many products out there and people saying different things. I've tried using a few different products: - Sharps Kid Glove - Billy Jealousy Hydroplane - Art of Shaving - All three scents - Grooming Lounge Beard Destroyer - Jack Black - eshave - tried a sam...

It's actually not all that bad of a cream. Not the best I've tried, but certainly a great cream at a decent value. BTW, while I respect all of the posters and find they all bring some great stuff to the forum, don't fall into the trap of believing that a cream is not good because it is brushless and...

The Grooming Lounge (which is based in DC) is opening up a new location in Atlanta soon. They have a ton of great products, including their own...which in my mug's personal opinion is even better than Art of Shaving. I would certainly check it out. You can also check it out and order products online...

I agree that Zirh is a fine shaving cream...especially for when you are in a hurry. BTW, I actually like the gel more though. However, I def. agree with a previous poster. I think the key with using some of the traditional creams is that you need to apply less pressure with your blade. I almost gave...

Hi! I can understand what you are going through. There are so many opinions out there. Here's my take on your question as my wife has also bought me similar gifts. 1) Buy him a nice brush, possibly stand, etc. and a nice shave cream. It could be another tub of Porasso ( you already know he likes it)...
