Thanks for all the further replies! The only blade missing from my selection (when compared to the sampler pack) is an Israeli, so yeah, I'm guessing it'll make a nice start all the same. I know from reading about the sampler pack that the preferred order for a beginner - from the mildest to the mos...

I never buy expensive stuff right off the bat, when I'm trying something new. That goes for everything: Jump ropes, guitars and what have you. That way I won't have to live with having spent loads of money on something I may not even continue using. Besides, I'm always hesitant when it comes to buyi...

Beginner questions (about to buy)

Yes, a little less than original, but what of it? :) As I've said before, I'm currently located in Sweden. Effectively this means that I'll have to order from abroad in order to have a half-decent selection to choose from; not to mention the price differences. I don't think the U.S. is currently an ...

Great tips! Unfortunately I'm in Sweden and if I were to buy each individual item from different U.S. shops - assuming that they even ship overseas - the total shipping would probably be a pain in the hindquarters. :D

(By the way; it seems like Cotton Blossom is out of Weishi razors.)

Thanks! I'm really grateful, make no mistake about it. I'll see if I can buy a blade sampler pack from abroad and then I'll try it out. If it's a little on the harsh side it may not be the best for someone like me, so I'll probably end up buying an adjustable instead. But I'll definitely keep the Go...

Gillette Goodwill's character?

So, with the aid of a very helpful With The Grain, I've identified my razor as a Gillette Goodwill. I'm not 100% certain, but certain enough. Looks a lot like a NEW - with the ball at the bottom of the handle and the "comb" - but with two rhombi stamped in the head (not the blade cover). A...

Thanks a million Sam, Aztekface, kalle and Labarum! If there are any more suggestions, keep them coming. A couple of weeks ago I found my granddads old Gillette Tech, and seeing as how the Tech generally seems to be regarded as a good beginner's razor, I'm ready to take the plunge and try out access...

British suppliers that ship overseas

Hi everybody! My first post, and what I would like to know is: Are there any well-stocked suppliers of shaving products in G.B. that ship with reasonable rates within Europe? I'm asking because I'm currently in Sweden, and I would like to be able to browse a larger selection than what we have availa...
