Re: ShutterBug requires skills I can't seem to master

You need to upload any photos you want to use to an image hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket. Once you've done that you copy the direct url (web address) of that photo. When writing a post there's an 'Img' button that inserts the correct code into your post, you then paste or type the url of yo...

Stunning scenery. It's just wet and dreary over here in the East Midlands.

Re: a concrete razor

I'm not sure how 'green' a concrete handle is. Yes it's recycled material but if you wanted a 'green' handle then surely wood would be a better option. Concrete isn't particularly green, even when recycled a lot of energy and resources would be used.

Re: Some major goings-on at U.P. Steam

So apparently the steam locomotive and railway is very much alive in the UK. Steam is very much alive in the UK, albeit for tourism rather than transport (the Heritage railway lines). http://steamrailwaylines.co.uk/index.htm I've been on a couple of the railways listed on that site, Swanage and the...

Welcome to SMF! Some really nice handles you've made there. If I had one tip to give it would be to not rush things. If I were to give another, it would be to not rush things.

Welcome to SMF Wills, too many of don't get taught to shave by anyone, we just stumble along blindly occasionally getting lucky (or not). I look forward to hearing any knowledge or experience you can pass on.

Re: Who still has their very first razor?

My first wet shave was probably with a Gillette Contour as it would have the late 80's. It could have been my dad's, I really don't remember. In fact, I can't remember what he shaved with, he must have been a wet shaver at some time as I remember his face having little squares of tissue paper on it ...

Re: Thanks for the New Forum

The new forum is definitely an improvement but I would add that the default skin lacks a little visual clarity. I'm glad the crossover was relatively hitch free.

So this is a replacement for the current standard/mild head or an option? They can't be switching over the whole line-up to Jaggerbeasts, can they? I don't believe so, it seems to be the same closed comb head they've been using for the last couple of years, it's just that it can be bought separatel...

Duckster makes some valid points. The site does looks a tad dated compared to some of the other forums and the new posts button would be useful.

My current (small) shave den has been purchased on the profits from the sale of my first (larger) shave den. To my shame, I bought and sold one or two razors without even trying them. I regret selling the fat handled tech I had, not because it was rare or valuable but because I didn't even give it a...

I know it's unlikely but if you don't ask you don't get. I'd very much like to try or buy one if anyone has one going spare. Many thanks.

I liked the Mühle R89 but found the handle a little short so have moved on to an R89 Grande. Same head but a slightly heavier and longer handle.

Even before my children arrived I was an evening shaver. I used to get a lot of irritation, by the morning most of that would subside and as my stubble is quite slow growing I'd still look presentable. I don't get so much irritation now but I still prefer evening or afternoon shaves as I really hate...
