New Wilkinson Sword TTO (not the classic plastic version) available in Germany

Hello Chaps, Haven't posted in quite a while... I managed to break(!) my trusty Merkur 34C HD recently and was about to start hunting for something to replace it with, as it is what I have used daily for the last few years. I was planning on bidding in the usual place for a Gillette tech, when I cam...

gdc, Just be aware that very few non-adjustable DEs have the weight of the Gillette that you use. The Merkur HD is as beefy as most and you say that it feels too light to you. This stuff is mainly a matter of what one is used to. Razors like the Gillette Superspeed or Tech used to feel kind of dink...

That's a very nice razor, but I'd prefer the basic model with the ball end handle if anyone has one they are willing to part with.

Ps. Great avatar.

I bet it wouldn't take even 1 day before someone contacts you. We all have Techs.
Excellent suggestion, I've done just that.

WTB: Gillette Tech

Following the reccomendation in a thread I started here http://www.shavemyface.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51653 I'd like to buy a Gillette Tech, the normal version ie not the fat handled or travel variants. I'm based in the UK, in case anyone doesn't want to ship there. Many thanks in advance for any...

You could pick up a vintage Gillette Tech. It would be about a "1" in a Slim. One might set you back all of $10 and if it gets lost who cares? They made about 3 billion of them. There is even a travel Tech with a tiny handle and they can be found with a tiny travel case. They can fit in a...

Re: Feather Popular TTO

Tucker wrote:For your needs, I recommend the Feather Popular TTO. It is a wonderful, albeit mild Twist To Open Razor that works well with Feather Blades. It comes with two blades and retails for $20 here in the U.S.
Interesting. Is the Feather TTO a similar weight/size to the slim adjustable?

Thanks - no concerns about flying here as most of my travel is within the UK.
When I do fly, I too use a Sensor.

Alternative to a slim-adjustable for travelling

Hello everyone. I would appreciate some guidance on a purchasing decision, as you have all been so helpful in the past! My daily use razor is a Gillette slim adjustable that was once my father-in-laws's. I generally use Feather blades, with the razor set to the least aggressive setting (1). I would ...

Thanks to all. I think I might give the Irisch Moos stick a whirl, with a good pre-soaking in hot water if necessary.

Softer soap sticks similar to TOBS

Greetings. I've been using sticks recently, and have been very impressed with the TOBS sandalwood - I like the softer soap compared to other sticks I have tried (Palmolive, Speick, Boots, Tabac and DR Harris), however I'm not such a fan of the TOBS sandalwood fragrance. I know they do the St James a...

Thanks for this, that is exactly what I was wondering, so I'm going to try the 21047.

Fair point, and you have already anticipated my Plan B, but surely the boar experts here can point me in the direction of something better than the Piccadilly for consideration?

Disappointed with Vulfix Picadilly

Gents, a while back I bought a Vulfix Picadilly from Connaught http://connaughtshaving.com/piccadilly.html to use as a travel brush, and I have found it disappointing - not much backbone, rather thin lather and too scratchy. I am a face latherer, mostly creams, some sticks. Now, I was not expecting ...

I have used the aftershave lotion as part of my daily routine for over a year now and the soap stick is a stock favourite in my travel kit. However, I'm not such a fan of the cream at all. I find it a bit too earthy for my tastes; the stick and the lotion have a fresher smell that I much prefer.

I'm a big fan of Speick, but have always preferred the stick to the cream (the scent of the cream being a bit much for me). As I'm generally a creams guy, this was a bit of a revelation! The After-shave Lotion, however, is a superb product in my opinion. I regularly try different creams and soaps, b...

Boots shaving soap

Good day all. Having recently devoured a pot of Taylor's St James cream rather quicker than I was expecting, I decided to try something a bit different, and picked up some Boots shaving soap (in the black plastic tub, not the stick) from my local branch (about GBP£2.50) . I'm not normally a soap per...

You can count me amongst those who see less to be gained from pre-shave oil treatments. I prefer to use a bit of hair conditioner on my stubble in the shower before shaving (I think I owe this to Mantic).
