Re: Blades: Voskhod DE, Personna "Lab Blue" DE, Schick Plus Platinum - DE and Injector

Bump... Added Voskhod DE blades. I still have a few of the Personna "Lab" blades, and I'm accumulating even more Schick Plus Platinum DE and injector blades. What's funny is that I haven't tried the Lab blades yet, though the main reason I bought a bunch was to have some to try. I did try the med pr...

Re: First razor for young son?

For a first razor, I agree that the Krona is a top contender. But I would go with one of the later model Schick injector razors - model L, M (adjustable), or N. Or if it has to be a DE, get a TTO like a Super Speed.

Re: Razor recommendations for shaving your head?

I know one person who likes the Gillette Atra for shaving his head, and someone else who likes the Sensor. To get an inexpensive Atra or Sensor, look for the Asian market Vector (Atra) or Vector 3 (Sensor), though the Vector 3 would come with 3-blade cartridges. The new twin blade Gillette Skinguard...

Re: Do You Think Wet Shaving Could Be Trending in 2020?

Gillette bought Art of Shaving quite a few years ago, I think before they were part of P&G. They had also bought some eastern European razor blade companies. They finally reached a limit on blade count (and cartridge price) with the Fusion. The Mach 3 is still very popular, even though it's reached ...

Re: New Gillette Razor - guess how many blades?

It came in the mail late last week, but I haven't tried it yet. (LOL full disclosure: I have a fairly heavy beard right now, and haven't shaved at all for over a month.) The handle is marked "Fusion." It's a mostly silver colored handle where the ball doesn't move. (I don't know how many Fusion hand...

Re: New Gillette Razor - guess how many blades?

Mike, I suppose that some DE blades would give you trouble, too. Have you tried injector or Gem-type razors?

I had forgotten about lubricating strips, which I'm not that fond of. I found a Skinguard with one cartridge on eBay for $7, so I went ahead. It should arrive this week.

Re: New Gillette Razor - guess how many blades?

Has anyone tried this razor yet? I was tempted to get one, but I haven't gotten around to it. I'm hoping to spend not much over $5, which is the main obstacle.

Ollie, get into your eBay account and change your password, if you haven't done that already. Check the account of the credit card(s) you listed with them, too. Check your list of purchases and sales.

Snoopy reincarnates?

I saw this sight on a walk today, so I went back for a camera before it got dark. Originaly, the dog was sitting, which I think was funnier.

Re: WTB Baby Smooth

A few months ago, I happened to buy a small bunch of Baby Smooth razors when Italian Barber had them on a very good sale, and resold them all on eBay in a few weeks or less. I almost kept one, but my RCD (razor clutter disorder) overcame my RAD (razor acquisition disorder).

Re: New Gillette Razor - guess how many blades?

I think part of it was that the Mach 3 is still giving the Fusion a run for its money. But I don't see this new one as becoming more popular than the Fusion or Mach 3. I think the idea is to sell to people using neither of them. I don't think there's a women's version. There's a Venus 5 as well as t...

Re: New Gillette Razor - guess how many blades?

Each blade has its own guard, and I think that spaces the blades farthar apart than on the Trac II.

Think of the guards as border collies for your stubble.

Re: Is this for real - Gillette prototype gas-powered razor?

I've been writing to the seller, who provided this entertaining last message: "I don't believe I said it was real, I said i thought it was a proto type! Thanks for your time and carry on!" He doesn't think it's a joke, despite my sending him the picture I posted here, and he won't tell me how he thi...
