The nivea is great. I also like proraso pre-shave (as an aftershave). It is also pretty cheap and the tub lasts forever. I usually apply it after my aftershave splash or balm. It really really helps get rid of any shaving bumps quick. It also prevents them from forming. YMMV

Milled Soaps

Has anyone used Tom's of Maine bath soaps? It says they are milled 4 times. I figure at $3.50 a bar its a good deal.

I read on some reviews that this company was bought out by an American company and that the quality of their product has changed. I noticed their website has a NYC address, so I believe they are no longer Bermudian owned. Has anyone experienced a change in these products? I am interested in buying a...

This morning I used a derby (2nd shave) in my new Gillette Tech from England. I really paid attention to my blade angle to the point where I mostly felt the blade cover and not the blade sliding over my face. I increased from 2 passes to 3 passes. I did this because with the lessened blade angle, I ...

Andy, If it makes you feel better I did not get the harris soap. There is a lot in my rotation, I need to let it dwindle a bit before I get soaps. I wouldnt want it to have any scent loss!

Well, I decided yes on the Chatsworth. I am also getting the 150ml Harris Pink (which I will need when I run out in a week or so) and an EJ labeled Kent hairbrush (going with the white bristle as I hear the black ones are tough on the scalp. Their price on the Harris shave soaps are holding me up. T...

I have had an itchy trigger finger for ordering the Chatsworth for awhile now, but the price has held me back. Is this one a viable alternative? http://www.theenglishshavingcompany.com/cgi-bin/psProdDet.cgi/DE89Ldb5||@cTraditional%20safety%20&%20double%20edge%20razors@b|0|user||17| Same head but...

I just got a nice English criss-crossed hatch tech on ebay. It is in really great shape...looks like new. It is my new favorite shaver. I figured if I were getting one I would spend a couple of bucks extra on a nice one from England.

Instead of cutting a nice brush, I suggest whoever is in NYC go to Cambridge Chemists and take a picture of the bisected Simpson brush they have there. The knot goes deep and was in a sort of V shape into the handle. I was there last week, and now I wish I took a picture of it. Please someone go the...

My shaves have been better. I have been taking more time to work on my blade angle. It seems to be working. I bought some new creams and different blades today. Is it a bad idea to try a new blade and a new cream during the same shave? Is this creating too many variables to determine what the cause ...

I say we have it on at either Trumper's or Taylor's.

Gil, its a great idea but may be difficult to make happen...unless it is done regionally. Definitely not a geeky idea.
