About 3 years ago I sold a NEW and I mean NEW as in never touched by water Toggle with case, papers, outer box, everything for $500. I put it on Ebay with $500 as my Buy it now and it was snatched up. I thought I was making a killing. Today that razor has doubled in price for a true collector. But s...

Same here, I haven't found anything yet that will replace my Feathers. I bought about $50 worth two years ago and I still have a lot of blades left.

For the past two years I have been using the Gillette Super Speed 1948 -50 series. I have 4 that are in excellent condition. I use one for a week and then clean and oil it and use a different one the following week. I clean them with scrubbing bubbles and an old electric tooth brush. Then I put a co...

Vintage Parker

Sam, have you tried a vintage pen? I owned a Montblanc in "gold" of course, it was $3000 and I hated it. I sold it for $2700 one week old. I have a Parker 51 with gold top and nib and I love it. It's not my daily writer as in a daily carry pen, because of the cost, $600. However I bought s...

I did the same thing

About a year ago I decided to keep a few daily shavers and sell "The Gold Collection." I didn't want to be burdened with selling individual razors so I put the whole package on Ebay with a Buy it Now for $5000. It was sold in less then 1 hour. I never checked to see that most of the razors...

Sam, interesting you should mention the Porsche Models.

I have fond memories of my years working at Hendrick Porsche. I still communicate with the guys and gals from time to time. I still look back at the fun I had driving some of the worlds greatest performing cars on the tracks. I look back at attending some of the best dining experiences one could ima...

I don't have a beard

OK, Bill I'm posting to prove that I'm alive and well. Guys thanks for wondering about me. When I retired and moved to Deep Run, NC I found some new interest. I have 8 acres of land that I take care of. I have a John Deere 950 diesel tractor with a bush hog, finish mower, box blade and disc plow. I ...

Thanks to Mark The Shoe Shine Boy and Andrew I was able to talk to Sue and her daughter Wendy last Sunday. The last thing she told me was that her soap making helped her to make so many friends. Sue considered every customer a new friend. She was a class act and first class citizen. Her daughter Wen...

I know what you mean but I find that if I want to communicate with my children and grand children I had to learn to TEXT and join Facebook. Email is used for LONG conversations of over 50 words. God forbid if they had to write a letter and use a stamp.

Retro 1951

I was a bit surprised that no one mentioned the Retro pens. I have 2 and they both are excellent daily writer pens. I keep black ink in one and blue in the other. They are under $50 and worth every penny. I see Richard Binder's name mentioned. I met him in person at a pen show in Raleigh NC a couple...

His handwriting

I remember when my Father died Gramps wrote me a card and letter. I was amazed how beautiful his hand writing was. He was always a gentleman and surely an asset to SMF. Rest in peace Gramps. Gone but never forgotten.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm sure the brushes are happy to be back in service. Over the years we acquire so much of shaving items that we just don't have enough beard to use them all as they deserve. I guess that's way it's called S.A.D. "Shaving Acquisition Disorder".

Maybe a congressman?

It's going to be hard to BUY a Senator, the drug companies, insurance companies, and big banks have already bought them all. There might be a couple of congressman left.
