Re: Rolling My Own

Has anyone tried to make a shave CREAM? I've experimented making a shave soap with moderate success using the formula posted much earlier by Chris Moss. After using exclusively soaps for a few years, I rediscovered T & H Ultimate Comfort Shave Cream, and with that I tried to make a shave cream w...
As for how they store the 1kg blocks, I suppose the fridge is an option but it isn't necessary. Suppliers don't refrigerate and I've never heard of rancidity being an issue.
I read on another board of people freezing Cella & P.160 1kg in the Ziploc style free...

Santa Maria Novella vs. Proraso

The comparison of Santa Maria Novella & Proraso is a long one and has been discussed on many shaving forums. Are they the same thing with different scents? All can agree they are made at the same factory, but 5W30 and 15W40 motor oils are made at the same factory too, but yet they are very diffe...

Valobra Stick vs Valobra Soft Almond

I have a Valobra stick I milled into a container that has been in my rotation for about six months now. Simply amazing stuff. Any thoughts on the Valobra Soft Almond from those of you who have the Valobra stick as well? I'm thinking of making a purchase of the Soft Almond, but would like to know wha...

Arko is a product that I have to get after reading this thread. I have a real preference for tallow soaps and this one seems to get great reviews.

T & H Luxury is probably the best performing T & H product there is. It's not the best scent that T & H offer, but certainly the scent would be best described as a very subtle lavender.

I've got 4 boar brushes, all Omega.

The Semogue you posted looks like a piece of art. Simply a stunning looking brush. I really should pick one up.

There's nothing wrong with Arko. Some people detest the smell...it's not all that bad.

If you are looking for a tallow infused soap then look no further.

hey...95%, 3rd day using MWF as a shampoo, my 45 years old hair feels thick and shiny, "excellelent Smithers!... :D " I wouldn't use it as my everyday shampoo in the winter without using an additional conditioner. In the a.m. I'll shower an apply MWF soap directly to my face and then lathe...

Guaranteed method to get lots of dense foam with MWF

After being fed-up with MWF and getting so-so results I put it away at the back of the medicine cabinet. After not using it for months and being too cheap to throw it out I decided I would use it as a soap in the shower...not too bad! Then I took the cake of MWF and rubbed it on my hair to use it as...

Any brush as good as the Chubby 2 Best for face lathering?

I've got lots of boars, a few Rooney, Vulfix, and a Shavemac...but my quest for the best face lathering brush continues. I'm looking for something very dense, very exfoliating. My preference is for something rubbery and stiff rather than soft and limp. It must generate a great lather and have a pref...

I rinse my brush THOROUGHLY with the hottest water possible after each use, then towel dry, then fluff. A faint whiff might be barely detectable the next morning when I use it. If I wait two days to use it, then no scent at all - it just smells fresh. Even the strongest soaps/creams follow this patt...
