Re: Zoysia
In the north east, we plant plugs of Zoysia in one foot spacing, Zoysia is such an invasive grass that, in 2-3 years the entire lawn will be Zoysia. I have never seen seed like Sam. The feeding and watering requirements are much different than most other grass. I could not get use to the fact that Z...

Re: Vetiver
Gary, vetiver is one of my favorites when it comes to cologne, presently my top three are, Le Labo, Creed and Guerlain. Guerlain is more crisp in your face scent, Creed is a bit more understated, business meeting, out with the boys scent, and Le Labo is a much softer powder type, think candle lit di...

Re: Kitchen knives
After reading this thread I went out and purchased the Chef's Choice Trizor sharpener, took me about 2 hour to convert our set of Henckels, great recommendation, Thank You. Have been very pleased with the results and my knives are wicked sharp again.

Clive, where in Myrtle Beach? The wife and I have a place in Calabash just over the boarder in North Carolina, we do 6-10 getaways a year down there. You are going to love it. If you need some restaurant to go to just ask..

All of my brushes are badger and have never run into a lather hog. I will say, the synthetics have peaked my interest though.

Re: Knockoff "Taylor Pork Roll"
For many years, my mornings started with a Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich with a cup of coffee. It is a wonderful taste. Every now and then I will cube it fry it and mix it into some scrambled eggs.

Re: Spare Wheels and Slime
Bryan, most if not all the "fix a flat in a can" products use the same chemicals, I had a can in my wife's car (slime) for peace of mind, she used it one day a few years back, got her home, no muss no fuss, when I took the tire to be patched I was informed it needed to be replaced. The slime starts ...

Re: Spare Wheels and Slime
Chris, as Jim stated it can eat up your wheels, once you use the stuff you will need to replace the tire, the slime puts the wheel out of balance. Great peace of mind if you don't mind replacing a tire that could have been patched or plugged. I carry a tire plug kit with a $20 pump in my cars, you c...

Re: Help with new shower fixtures and shower heads
Sam, every woman in my life has not had any luck removing shampoo with a rain shower head, always complained about the pressure. This was when we would be on vacation in an hotel. If you go with multiple heads check your water supply piping size, for multiple head simultaneous use you will need a 3/...

Re: Which watch
Sam, I am going through a watch phase as we speak and have been very impressed with Ebel, if you are looking to move a notch or two up from the Tissot, Ebel is the watch, in the past they we expensive but pricing has come way down. On the bay there are a bunch in the style you are after at very nice...

Re: Not a Gentlemanly topic
Jim, that would be one way for it to leak when not glued, I would put a rain cap on the vent, not cap it off completely though.

Re: Not a Gentlemanly topic
Chris, when you say seal the vent pipe do you mean to put a cap on it and glue it to the pipe? Vent pipes are needed so a vacuum is not created in the pipes, if you seal the vent eventually a vacuum will form stopping the flow from leaving your home, you would notice slow running drains and in time ...

Re: melt and pour, glycerin and such things
I would be one of those guy's who don't buy into the whole home made soap craze, the closest I came to buying an artisan soap was the first variation of XXX, and it is still sitting in the closet unused because I have to many world class hard milled soaps to use up. I stay out of the soap forums on ...

Re: Old Spice bottle question
Also, don't be surprised if the juice inside has gone bad, it happens. If it is NOS it should be in a plastic display with a red ribbon holding the top and bottom together. When P&G bought Shulton I stocked up on these decanters, over the years I have noticed 1 in 5 have gone bad.

Re: Old Spice bottle question
Bruce, if it is the vintage bottle it just pulls off. At times the juice inside make the top stick, try twisting it a bit to loosen then pull it off.
