I am reviving this thread to thank F.W Fitch (Jared) for a very generous act by him. A couple of weeks ago he alerted me to an Ebay auction for 50ml bottle of Esprit de Lavande. I am happy to be a part of this kind of community......

Gary, I appreciate the insight. I have noticed the same thing with the R41, but I have been attempting to work my way through it. Your post is forcing me to rethink my position. My reluctance to purchase a Cobra has been my large caché of DE blades, but if I make it a part of a rotation then I can j...

I foolishly decided to read this thread which forced me to order a Cobra. I am very happy with the R41, so what am I doing? This whole internet thing for buying stuff is way too easy.

Received it earlier today and immediately tried it on. Very nice powdery, quiet scent. I initially picked up a citrus smell that receded as the day progressed. It is now a very nice floral with good longevity. While I don't have a sophisticated nose, I am glad it is a part of my collection.

All of the top end blenders claim they can make a smoothy without destroying themselves, but the Vitamix is the only one that works for me.

And? You want sympathy? :P You're barking up the wrong tree! Precious few of us are not struggling with addictions around here. Good luck! My problem is that I'm not struggling and I don't want sympathy. I am in the acceptance phase, the problem is that SWAMPTHING is not nearly as a...

I have a problem

I was doing very well with my limited collection of colognes until I renovated my bathroom. With the renovation came custom cabinetry to display my colognes and other shaving essentials. While I don't have a large collection of colognes (28 currently) it appeared my new space seemed a bit bare. So, ...

I started this thread over 4 years ago and based on the scholarly comments about MdM decided to try before I bought. At least that was the plan, but it never happened. Move forward to the present day. I started my week with my usual routine and then it hit me that I would like to try MdM. Why this m...

I also have an iPhone with an Otterbox Defender case and always carry it in my pocket. Remember, it's a tool, not a fashion accessory.

This is funny, but interesting. I put a weber handle on my R41, which is identical to the ikon handle. I had the same results with my go-to blades. It handled better, not as unpredictable. I am going to keep it now. Vic I believe the added weight of the Ikon or Weber handle helps settle the R41 hea...

I have enjoyed trying quite a few beautiful razors over the last few years. Now that I am using the R41 with an Ikon Bulldog handle my rotation consists of 1 razor. Not much of a rotation. Fortunately, I am redoing my bathroom so I will have a very nice display of my retired shaving gear.

If you enjoy a good scrub and face lathering, a small short lofted brush is easy to control. A large brush is best for lathering in a bowl and painting on the the lather in light to and fro motions. It all depends on how you define large. The loft and shape of the brush head are important factors. ...

Is bigger better?

I am a fan of smaller brushes, but in the interest of keeping the fragile economy afloat I have recently purchased larger brushes to put in my rotation. While the larger brush is clearly more impressive to look at, I believe the smaller brush does a better job of getting the soap/cream on ones' face...

I've had 2 shedders. The first was a Vulfix that Lee (Lee's Razors) promptly replaced, and the second was a Shavemac VLB that committed suicide. I gave it one shake to expel excess water after my shave one morning and the whole knot flew out of the handle. I didn't bother to seek redress, instead I ...
