Re: Profit motive, or not?
I find this hobby relaxing, and informative. Years ago, I dreaded shaving because of ingrown hairs, and such. After drawing on the expertise of many kind members I now have too much of everything, but have enjoyed the collecting. Along the way I've met many nice people on the internet so being gener...

Re: My fragrance journey so far
I agree that IFRA restrictions are changing the fragrance landscape, but there are many that are still worth acquiring. I have a reasonable collection of vintage frags such as Lords, Patou Pour Homme, Molyneaux Captain, Gucci Nobile, Ho Hang Club, and several others. My current frags are too numerou...

Re: My fragrance journey so far
Very thoughtful thread that I enjoyed reading. I have collected a wide variety of fragrances and while I enjoy the vintage stuff, I also like many of the recently released frags. By the way, Fitch sold the Rose Geranium to me and it is a very nice addition to my collection.

Re: L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme
While I have not tried LIDG, I own and very much enjoy LIDGE. It is a a wonderful gourmand scent without being overbearing or cloying. Definitely a cocoa vanilla vibe in the dry down. One of my cooler weather scents. Difficult to obtain in the USA, but very easy to obtain from the Guerlain boutique ...

Re: Dyson fans
I've had the fan since it was first released and I like it. I think it is cool (double entendre intended). It looks nice and it works. Can you accomplish the same cooling for less money? Of course you can, but then you wouldn't be as cool. (Double entendre intended, again). I also have a Dyson vac a...

I received mine today and I am quite pleased. Aside, from having to explain to SWAMPTHING that these are hard to come by, so when an opportunity presents itself one must act. I don't think she bought it, but a man must do what a man must do.........

Re: New Penhaligon's Scent coming
It is not illegal for British vendors to ship fragrances to the USA, but it is expensive. New regulations classify fragrances as dangerous substances, so shipping costs are very high. In all fairness, several fragrances that I've sampled over the years, are in fact, dangerous to my sense of smell......

Re: Summer scsents - anyone got comments?
In Houston, it is necessary to choose ones' fragrance based on the ambient temperature. I find my colder weather frags do not do well in blast furnace heat with the accompanying high humidity that is common in Houston. Likewise, my hot weather scents smell a bit thin and uninteresting in the colder ...

Re: Summer scsents - anyone got comments?
Funny you should mention Ormande Jayne Man. It will be my next purchase, but it is unavailable in the US. Shipping from England is now exorbitant for fragrances so I have a friend that will acquire a bottle for me in Abu Dhabi. Michael, your comments have only heightened my interest. Always enjoy re...

Re: Summer scsents - anyone got comments?
Sel Marin is my favorite marine scent. Very pleasant salty, sea breeze feel to it with average longevity, but a very well crafted scent. Along the same line is Bond No. 9's Andy Warhol Montauk. Both are very nice in the warm weather. Frapin 1270 is an excellent boozy, immortelle combination that pro...

If the ghost has any civility about himself at all, the least he could have done is to make sure the supply is replenished. I'd think it rude to deplete his host's goods without standing good for his damage. Hell, I don't see it as damage. If I had a ghost in my home, I would encourage him t...
