The Pella magazine can be tricky to position correctly, but I think your problem the lack of a blade already in the razor. It requires much more force to load an injector that doesn't already have a blade in place to slide out. The spring tension on the head is considerable.

Martin is onto something! The RT's had a slightly different blade tray than the later SS's and have a different feel to them. There were some transition SS's that had the RT blade tray and shave the same, at least for me. I really like my RT's and the short run of these historic shavers adds dimensi...

Perhaps the Rhodium #58's exist. Sadly, I have yet to find one. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2628/4156581083_7be4a90671_o.jpg I've seen many NOS President sets pictured around the web and none mentioned anything about Rhodium. Being so precious and all one would think Gillette would trumpet the fa...

The coronation edition of the #58 when complete has a tag on the razor that says “rhodium plated.” Perhaps only the coronation edition was rhodium plated, but from a production standpoint, that would seem needlessly costly. It may well be that the garden variety #58 is not, but as I look at my #58 ...

Seriously, with a deal like that why is that #58 still here? Amazing. I agree! After shaving with my #58 this morning, I have to say, any confirmed Gillette man should consider this heavy, rhodium -plated razor. --Glenn These were not plated in rhodium, but as a nickel plated razor it would have to...

+1. These aren't new products that you can bring back to a store and return. You're stuck unless you sell it yourself.

Faisal, a question about the #58. I thought the Coronation edition had a special emblem of some kind on the case, but I don't see any marking other than the Gillette logo in the picture. Am I mistaken about this, or am I overlooking something? --Glenn This is correct. The razor is a #58 and NOT a C...

I have a few and some have the red anodized ferrule. Give it a try, but be careful. The Injecto-matics tend to have more of a bite than a Schick Injector.

Yep, that's the one Paul. All mine says on the NOS packaging is "Schick Platinum". I also have a shaver that doesn't have anything printed on it except "Schick" on the case.
