I'm surprised that there has been no review of the Merkur blade yet.
I know it's not a popular blade however they are easy to get hold of
in Canada and I've never had any problems shaving with them.
I'm very interested to see how they rate on Squire's scale.

With my Gillette New all the gold has worn off, the heads copper and the handle is brass, it still looks really good when polished up and it shaves like a dream. It's the best shaver of all my Gillettes and I would rate it superior to the Progress too.

The only time I ever have this problem is when I try to shave within 24 hours of doing a bbs shave. If I do bbs I always leave at least a day and a half between shaves, if I don't, I get a lousy shave. This give the skin more time to recover properly and a better shave imo.

I've been using a shavette that takes half a blade for moustache shaping for several years now without problems and am keen to make the jump.

Back into de shaving after a 30+ years break

Hi everbody, name's Kenny. Great web site by the way. Been back into de shaving for a couple of months now, it's much better second time round. First time you're young and shaving for most was just a chore and you wanted to get out and about as fast as possible and the majority of us fell hook line ...
