I made inquiry to Bernd about this new silvertip and I asked him if it was closer in quality to the 'old' shavemac bristle. He responded that it was, i.e. thicker, more resilient, yet still silky soft . Scott Scott, I can't give you an answer about the SMF1 but I can definitely attest to the exact ...

I received my horn handle, but I think that I am going to have it re-bristled by Rooney. All of the discussion on the heritage bristle quality has be intrigued. Sam :D :D I'm actually very satisfied. It took me a while to really appreciate the brush and the higher quality hair. I also had to adapt ...

But then again every SR I own is a favorite. Only 2 months old used in my rotation. Completely cleaned. $85.00 ship...

+ 1 Same goes for the C&E almond shaving cream. Doesn't come close to the almond scent we're used to and that's why a lot of people are turned down by it although it's not a bad cream.

superior in what way? personally i just care about your views on the soaps... thanks

Clive
scent, lathering and moisturizing

But YMMV. Every skin wil react differently and the water you use can make a huge difference too in lathering.

I never really cared for any of the Taylor soaps/creams. GFT, T&H are way superior imo.

welcome to the TAD or tabac acquisition disorder.

I have every Tabac item in my bathroom and love it!

If Tabac would make toothpaste I would use it too. :D

One thing's for sure. Savile Row and Shavemac both sell the exact same handles whereas Shavemac offers a huge choice of handles so it could well be that Bernd makes the SR brushes. Either way Vulfix or Shavemac are involved somewhere imo.

A true collector has at least one of each!

And personally Rooney or Simpson don't do it for me!

Savile Row fits my feel exactly so it's always going to be a YMMV thing.
