SOLD!!! Slim Short Slim, U-4
SOLD!!! Too many razors in the collection, selling a couple. A beautiful example of this style, this razor is in superb shape. Numbers all filled in completely except "3," which is actually not stamped fully and thus appears thin in some spots. Apparent tarnish under right safety bar in u...

I'd agree with Gordon that the Finest brushes from Rooney are something that you don't have. I'd try the 3,1 or the 2,1, though the latter has a shape similar to the Alibaba. These are scritchy bristles, they'll exfoliate the skin like crazy. Get them only if you like that feel on the face. Get a di...

eBay shamed
EBay is taken to task for not watching counterfeits closely. Doesn't relate that much to us, but at least someone is keeping an eye on auctions there.

I'm a big Rooney fan, have bought several brushes at Vintage. Only the 3,1 Finest was a shedder and Jim replaced it immediately. None of the others have any problems. My favorites are the Heritages, I prefer their softness to the PL8 and the CH2 in Best that I have. Just personal taste, but I would ...

man i'm so tempted to buy one. 2 of my buddies are using it and they all say it's impressive. hmm... do i or do i not buy? Look at the twisting pocketwatch. Stare intensely. You're getting drowsy, your eyelids are drooping. Good. Now that you're relaxed, check your bank balance and even if it's in ...

New Tumbler for the Moss Scuttle
I think Sara Bonnyman is too shy to toot her own horn about this new item, so I thought I would do it for her. I'm the proud owner of two Moss scuttles, one at home and one at the weekend place, and I emailed her a couple of months ago and asked if she had an 8 oz bathroom tumbler to match the scutt...

I suppose the winning bidder is counting on the seller being honest and having an inadequate camera, or he wrote for clarification. I would like to think that people are this honest, but I've been stung before. I've bought razors described as mint, with no pits or scratches; the photos were distant...

I was soundly outbid. It is a Gillette Aristocrat, probably un-notched, with a beautiful case that looks to be in incredible condition. A gold blade holder would make a compete set. You don't see many with the blue case. I have a minty brown/maroon cased one so I won't cry too hard about this...

I hope one of us didn't pay over $50 for a blurred out picture of goodness knows what. Who is out there bidding?!

Open comb question
Should I worry that an old open comb, a vintage Gillette from the late '30's to the mid '40's won't work with modern thin, flexible blades? Will the blade strike the comb at each point, so that only the edge between the points will be availalbe for cutting? Is that why the newer safety edge came int...

The Stubby is the most luxurious brush you will ever use. The bristles are the densest of any brush I've ever put to my face. I have the Stubby 3 that I use for creams and it's great. You'll enjoy the 1,1 but you'll love the Stubby. There is no comparison in the softness of tips of the Heritage bris...
