Re: WTB: Rare Shaving Soaps

Thanks, Gary! Yeah, times have definitely shifted - two little ones at home now, so that has kept me quite busy. I will try to poke around here a bit more :)

Re: WTB: Rare Shaving Soaps

LOL I was in hibernation - and that woke me up!

I poke in and out every once in a while. It seems that the overall site isn't that active, which is a bummer :)

Re: WTB: Rare Shaving Soaps

Ah that damn Hammam shave soap. In all of my years, it evades me. Good luck with your search! I hope you find some!

Re: New Gillette cartridge razor

YMMV and all that. I have had a helluva time getting the double edge razor down pat, no matter what blades/razors, etc I used. Re: A Gent's Forum to this day

Very well put. It's not often that you can find a group that is the most informed with technique, historical content, etc. while being a nice and down to earth group. I am glad that this forum is still kicking. For a while there, it was on life support!

Gordon, did you have the US or UK branded razor? I found the UK was quite smoother than the US.

How long do you guys think these tubes will last, if kept in a cool climate?

Re: Best Trac II blades in production

Had a great shave with the Gillette II Plus cart yesterday. It was as good if not better than the Wilks. They aren't cheap, but hey, they are cheaper than the Fusions!

Re: Best Trac II blades in production

I think I found these with the green strips, the Gillette Vector. But they also have the Slalom, which seems to maybe be the same blades but for a different market. Does anyone know?
