Re: Joke of the Day
QUEEN Elizabeth and Dolly Parton die on the same day, and both go before an Angel to find out if they'll be admitted to Heaven. Unfortunately, there's only one space left that day, so the Angel must decide which of them gets in. The Angel asks Dolly if there's some particular reason why she should g...

Re: Guns
Living in a small town in South Western Pennsylvania we do not have problems that I have seen on the news when it comes to police brutality and overzealousness when doing their jobs. I go see though the major problem with policing in much larger communities and big cities. There seems to be a whole ...

Re: Gym headphones
I have been using wireless BT headphones that I paired with my Samsung Tablet and played music I had downloaded to the device. For the last couple years I have used them with my LG mobile phone which has BT. The main problem I see with using it with a iPhone to listen to Spotify is using phone data ...

Re: Has anyone ordered Connaught Shaving and Shaving.ie lately?.
I have ordered from Paul quite a few times. Most of the time I get like 8 cakes of Mitchel's Wool-Fate bath soap. But I am now finding that I need to order some Taylor's shave creams. So my order will be larger than normal. His prices are just great and his shipping comes much faster than what one w...

Oh you MWF haters! What blasphemy you do and Wendell is not the only Wool Fat Apostle on SMF. Like Wendell I love the FAT for shaving but the wife and I like it even more as a bath soap. Yes, Mitchell sells the FAT as a bath soap. For me the FAT bath soap is almost as good as sliced bread. As for Wi...

Re: An alternative to shaving every day
Gary, Been retired now for 2 yrs and like you no longer have to shave everyday for work. I often go 3-4 days between shaves and will sometimes use a "hated" Gillette multi-blade razor to get the worst of the growth off my face especially if I am in a hurry. Still, when I really want a clos...

A guy complains of a headache. Another guy says, "Do what I do. I put my head on my wife's bosom, and the headache goes away." The next day, the man says, "Did you do what I told you to?" "Yes, I sure did. By the way, you have a nice house!" - Henny Youngman

Re: New Year, New You?
Because of declining health, COPD, heart problems, knee problems I have had to scale way way back on stuff I can do. The COPD is the biggest problem. So since I can't get out and around as much as I used to I decided to try doing something creative. My daughter has convinced me to give crochet a try...

Re: New Year, New You?
Gareth, Congrats to you and the Mrs on the birth of your daughter. One word of warning and this comes from experience. Be careful that little girl will have you wrapped around her finger in not time at all. And also know that those little girls in our lives tend to grow up really fast. Both you and ...

Re: pots and pans
Good pots and pans do help preparing meals and treats a heck of a lot. Wife and I have used stainless steel for the most part but about 10 years ago we started using vintage cast iron to cook in. Do most everything in the cast iron except for a few soups where we need a larger capacity cooking vesse...

Lamb Kefta (meatballs) simmered in a tagine in herbed lemon sauce and served with couscous. I make Lamb Kefta Kabobs on the gas grill and serve it with a garlic-yogurt sauce and serve it with rice. Would love you to share your recipe for the herbed lemon sauce. Here's the recipe for the herbed lemo...

That is one of the best jokes you have posted. Read it to my wife and she just howled with laughter. We've been married 45 yrs and are past that stage in life. Doing repairs ourselves, not the sex or even baking pies.

Re: Who still regularly uses 3Ts / DRH / Pens soap/cream
I use TOBS and T&H almost exclusively. Do throw in a Tabac, Pens creams once in a while. Have tried several artisan creams and soaps and just did not like them as well as I do the 3Ts.

Pizza is like sex. It's always good, unless it burns your mouth and then adds insult to injury by calling you nine months later saying, "Hey, you have to give me money for the next 18 years because we forgot to use a napkin."
