You're absolutely right about my brush. I was pretty sure it wasn't a 660, as I was pretty sure Lee switched the brush out in the set since I had purchased it. When you said 2233, every bell and whistle in my head went off. Yeah, that's a 2233. I too have a 2233, face lather (but mostly with soaps)...

When I was in one of my super-thrift phases, I picked up some men's Suave. Within a few days, my hair was like straw. I'm currently using American Crew Daily Shampoo and Stimulating Conditioner and am getting good results - not mindblowing, but good. But I too have been wanting to steer clear of the...

From my experience with them, both Vulfix and Shavemac use excellent hair, and never, but never, have shedding problems. Chris I haven't tried Shavemac, but my 2233 is a great little brush. It lathers soaps and creams wonderfully, feels great on my face, and has lost maybe three hairs in as many ye...

Vulfix Super Badger and Shavemac
What kind of badger hair is Vulfix's Super Badger? Which of Shavemac's offerings is closest to it? I want to have the knot in one of my brushes replaced, and something like my 2233 would be ideal.
Vulfix doesn't replace knots, do they?

I shower at night. 15-20 minutes after I get up, I wash my face and hold a hot facecloth to my beard for a few minutes. I partially fill my sink with hot water, soak my brush for a bit, load the brush with soap, and face lather. I do one WTG pass, then an XTG pass on my mustache and chin. I rinse of...

I've loved the Trac II ever since it came out. Regrettably, after the second or third shave in a row, I get ingrown hairs. Never fails. It's something to do with the extra close shave. I never had that with the Trac II. I did get it horribly when, in a fit of irrationality, I tried a Norelco. My ne...

I liked the way my Trac II shaved, but found it clogged too easily with hair for some reason. I remember that annoyance the last time I used Trac II. So far, I haven't had any clogging with this razor. I'm guessing it's a combination of swishing the razor head in the sink more often, and not pressi...

Yes, only at SMF. I too have noticed variation in stubble quality, so I'm glad this has come up. The original poster isn't saying that the blade changes the structural quality of the hair. He's talking about the quality of the cut at the tip of the hair, and how that might affect the feel and look o...

I helped introduce the TRAC 2 ... Awesome! ... and I consider it one of the two most important development milestones in shaving, the first being the Gillette DE razor with replaceable blades and the second being the TRAC 2 I completely agree. Gillette makes more money on multi-blade cartridges tha...

Switching back to Trac II
I have a nice Trac II shaving set that I bought in Japan about 10 years ago and have been thinking about using it again. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n130/Kuriya/TracIIset.jpg The handle is heavy and long, the badger brush soft and full, and the stand elegant and strong. I think I paid about $...
