I have Acqua di Parma's Colonia and it's one of my favorite fragrances of all time. A beautiful combination of citrus and rose. I also know a number of women that like Acqua di Parma so much they wear it themselves. So it's a fragrance that genuinely crosses gender boundaries. If ever a fragrance de...

I couldn't quite stir it, but I did shake the tube several times before refrigerating. It didn't seem "separated" as much as just... liquid. I LOVE the scent of Eton College, by the way--may be my favorite so far of the 21 creams I've tried (I'm keeping a diary in case you were wondering....

Sal, If you didn't know before, now you do. That's a genuine quality made traditional men's cologne. Smell the difference between that and most of the current stuff at the local dept. store? Even with scents one doesn't especially care for personally, one can still tell the difference that quality ...

I have 16 different shave creams - all purchased within the last 15 months or so, when I first stumbled across wetshaving sites on the internet. So I'm a relative neophyte when it comes to the "top-end" stuff. My creams consist of: 6 x Trumper's 7 x Taylor's 1 x DR Harris 1 x Coates 1 x Th...

I've never used a pre-shave oil, for two reasons:

* I'm very happy with the shaves I get without using one, so I don't feel the need to experiment with a shave oil

* I love shaving, but I want to keep it as simple as possibe. Why add an extra step unless you really feel the need for it?

Hugo and Gruffydd3. Gents - many thanks for the link to DR Harris. I didn't realise DR Harris' had their own website until reading this thread. (And that's in spite of several searches on Google). This link's a very worthwhile addition to the "favorites" on my browser! Gruffydd3 - I agree ...

I'm jonsin to place an order direct from Harris but the damn exchange rate is killing me. I still haven't tried any of their creams and soaps but I really want to sample their body products. Heard very good things. Does D.R. Harris have an "official" website? If so, I've never been able t...

I tried my Shaving Shop sample from Taylor today. It has been the only disappointment of my three samples of Avocado, Mr. Taylor and Shave Shop. It may just be my sample but it took a LOT to finally get lather and it still wasn't GOOD lather. As many great reviews as I have seen on this stuff I may...

Nice to see Atkinson's English Lavender getting a good rap on this board. Atkinson's is also my preferred "straight" lavender fragrance. It's brisk and refreshing, without any cloying sweetness. I find it quite long-lasting, as well. For a more complex fragrance with oodles of lavender in ...

Any shave foam/gel out of a can - Gillette, Palmolive, Mennen - you name it. I could never use this inferior rubbish again. Thank Christ I discovered quality English shave creams. And finally realised razor burn and nicks are not an inevitable part of life!

Gordon, I think the Quinine and violets are only recent additions to the Trumper range but I may be wrong. English As far as I know, GFT (2001) and Sandalwood (2002) are the most recently released Trumper's fragrances. Both are really nice scents. The Sandalwood, in particular, is a superb fragranc...

Guys, ithe violet scent is really really good. It's gentle and very manly. My wife described some of the scents as spicy, overpowering , cloying, horrible. Violets she said..."very manly, I like that". So welcome to the pansy club. I've been wanting to try Trumper's Ajaccio Violets for so...

Re: Trumpers Fragrances

I know you can mix and match all of these products but what shaving cream/soap do you think complements the Eau de Quinine? English I also love the smell of Trumper's Eau de Quinine. It smells very traditional and very lovely at the same time. Trumper's recently sent me free samples of 6 of their f...

I have almond shave creams from Trumper's and Coates. The Trumper's almond is the only one of their creams that I actually dislike and would not buy again. It gives a great shave, and is very lubricating (as you'd expect from Trumper's), but I find the scent just too sweet. The aroma also reminds me...

I bought the Body Shop shave cream recently, based entirely on comments from some of the lads on this site. I agree that it's a good product that gives you an excellent shave. I like the aroma; to me it smells quite clean and fresh without being too sweet. I also agree that it's not quite in the Tru...

Never used a T&H shave cream. As regards Trumper's and Taylor's - and I have almost all of their shave creams - I don't notice much difference in the quality of the shave itself. Taylor's creams may tend to feel more creamy and luxurious than Trumper's, but not by much. I certainly have preferen...
