Richard; I've been using Proraso for many, many years. Certainly much longer than most folks would have known about them. The picture you provided regarding the soap versions got me thinking. Yes, you are correct in that they were one of the first victims of this "reformulation" situation....

Yes, I understand that my comment was probably too charitable, but I thought I'd just play the devil's advocate for once  Gordon, as an aside, you really might wish to try the newer Taylor's creams. They are very slick, and while you do end up using more compared to the old version, the pri...

As I mentioned previously, with the newer formulated creams, I seem to be able to achieve an easier time of generating good lather. Now this doesn't mean to say that I don't believe there is some nefarious reason why so many products were changed in a relatively short period of time. However, and I ...

Gordo.....can I call you Gordo????? :D I just like the way it sounds.LOL What I have heard is that this reformulation will take place sometime in the late fall/early winter. This reformulation would pretty much affect all of their cream lines. And you could probably bet that the level of consistancy...

Guess what I heard from a somewhat less-than-reliable source??? T&H are now supposed to be reformulating their shaving cream line later on in the year. (Maybe something to do with EU regulations  ) Anyway, I'll do some digging myself to see what could actually be transpiring sooner rather ...

I unfortunately do agree with the reformulated ones being quite different from the new ones. There is absolutely no doubt that these creams have changed PERIOD. I have a collection of various creams from Trumpers purchased years ago that look like nothing compared to the watered-down versions of wha...

Well it does seem to me that you either end up with a pretty damn fine brush, or you end up with one you can't even dust with after a while!!!

Here's hoping that this issue ends up only being minor.

Merlyn

Gordon; Yeah, I was talking to Lee earlier regarding the staining of said brushes. He didn't seem to be too concerned about this as it didn't affect it's performance. And I agree about this fact, it's just that after spending a sum of money on a half-decent brush, I don't want to see it look a littl...

Merlyn, You must have gotten that brush pretty much as soon as they appeared for sale, as they haven't been available for much longer then two years, eh? I didn't pick one up until later so I can't speak to your question from direct personal experiance. How many times per week have you used this Ro...

I would guess that I have seen ~ 120-180 hairs over the past couple dozen times I have used it. I know that this is way above normal but I was wondering if anybody else experienced this situation as well. The brush itself is nice but I'm not too excited about its lack of stiffness overall. Since I p...

Rooney's Hair

Just out of curiosity, do any of you have "issues" regarding Rooneys brushes that lose too much hair before they are supposed to. I had (have) a style #3 that I had been using intermitantly over the past couple of years. It seems though that whenever I use the brush nowadays I end up findi...

I am basically loyal to those creams that are now unfortunately "reformulated". Hence, while I might have only 7-9 different ones I am partial towards; my obsessive-compulsive behaviour dictates that I must accumulate as many of those "old" version ones as possible. Ergo, stock-p...

I like to keep it simple. Since I change blades weekly, when the blade needs changing, I use a small amount of liquid soap and a baby toothbrush to clean the inside. Then I rinse it in warm water, and finally spray isoprophyl alcohol on it to keep it fairly sanitary.

First off I would like to apologize for my original post, I was slightly angry, and didn't take the time to think it through. The intent of my post was that while pipe and cigar smoking does carry a risk, as the doctors have so abley pointed out, it is not anywhere near the risk of cigarette smokin...

Where, oh where, is your proof????? How can you possibly, completely, totally isolate tobacco smoke from all the other variables in a person's life, within the context of a fairly large sample of people over a long, protracted period of time, to state with absolute 100% certainty that the reason th...
