Re: "new" Arko sticks, new order in ingredients

I know this was a few months ago, but I wanted to say I'm not sure the different ingredient list is much of a reformulation. All of the scent ingredient stuff is just listing specific components that may be irritants according to EU regulations. Potassium stearate is a more accurate rewording of ste...

if they made a gold plated progress i'd take it to bed every night :)

Mergress is the only razor I would buy at this point. My Rockwell 6S is doing just fine, but the Mergress is certainly a looker, and the one I had was a very nice shaving tool. I also foolishly sold it.

Re: Review: TOBS Lime Luxury Shaving Soap

Gary, no dice so far. That said, I looked at the ingredient list of current TOBS Sandalwood soap. They are nearly identical save for shea butter in the lime as opposed to palm kernel fatty acid in the sandalwood (this would be superfat, which does matter) and fragrance ingredient differences. In tur...

Re: finally, mastered the futur

I never did try a Futur. The Mergress is the only razor I wish I had back. That said, my Rockwell with plate 4 or 5 does everything I want. Come to think of it, I never sampled through most of the Merkur line. The 1904 and the barberpole were the only ones from the brand that I tried other than the ...

Re: Milk Street Recipes ...?

Yes, I’ve tried several recipes and they’ve been successful. I’m a big fan of Chris Kimball, the force behind Milk Street, and loved his previous cooking programmes, America’s Test Kitchen and Cooks Country, which he founded. I’ve they’re greatly diminished since he left so I was most pleased when ...

Re: Shaving schedule

Still shaving daily, albeit a bit later than previously. Tomorrow is my first day back to a sort-of normal work schedule (online teaching for the duration of the semester), so I think I'll gravitate back to early rising, my daily run, oatmeal, shower, and then coffee and a shave...before kicking off...

Re: I made this soap

Sounds like a terrific soap, Chris. I'm very fond of olive oil in bar soaps. It is reluctant to trace, to be sure. My standard bar soap uses tallow, lard, olive oil, and coconut oil, but I have found that an 80/20 olive/coconut soap is very nearly the best of pure castile with a less slimy and more ...
