Re: Wet Shaving and the Internet

Clive and Murray, good to see you’re both around and witty as always. The beard was a beauty, after a lifetime of clean shaven. Enormous and thick, salt and pepper. Some said it was awesome, others asked if I’d work for food. Haha. Since when did New razors start costing $200.?? Topic for another ti...

Re: Wet Shaving and the Internet

Hi all. Long time no see. By date stamp my last post was over 2 years ago. I did grow a beard for most of that time, now more work from home isolation has kept me from this wonderful hobby. In my return I see this post and find it disappointing if this site has turned spiteful and unfriendly like ot...

Re: Cremo Sandalwood Shaving Cream

thanks for the review. I also noticed it recently at Target and was wondering the same thing. I actually like the cremo in a tube, despite it being brushless (it is the ONLY brushless goo I use, normally I hate the stuff). But, I only use it for my head-shaving in the shower. Something about the hot...

Re: Interesting Journey

I think the circle, or progression of our interest is similar for most of us. It can actually be paralleled with other hobbies or interests... Start out ignorant, discover things of interest, dive in, enjoy vibrant discussion with others, try new things, get diagnosed with RAD, SCAD, BAD, RBAD, and ...

Re: price point for shaving cream

Rufus, you hit the nail on the head about TOBS. That's what I had in mind when I strarted this. I can be very satisfied with TOBS, or Palmolive, Musgo, MWF, and others and keep a reasonable price. I love T&H and Trumpers but not so much at >$35-$40. At some point, I begin to think of other thing...

Re: Found at an estate sale

I agree, BP. If I do find something at a flea market, they are asking full retail. I guess for the same money, I'd rather post my need/ want here and buy from you fellas. I have not tried estate sales. I really haven't found anything interesting at all in a while. Maybe this summer...

Re: The benefit of in-person shopping

Great post. Its unfortunate that its such a short list of quality retailers in this field (although that has been discussed plenty times over in these forums). I have noticed a very slight increase in small, local places that are new, trying to give it a go. I think the interest in wetshaving and qu...

price point for shaving cream

Hi gents. With many products over the years I have come to find various mental 'tipping points' where a product price is either within my perceived "buy" range, or above that point in my "do not buy" range. Many things factor in this... value, perceived value, income, the importa...

Re: What is the best razor for shaving your head?

I've been head shaving for close to ten years now. I have tried many different razors and blades, with different results. Despite all the great DE 's in my (face shaving) collection, I have settled on the basic Gillette good news, two blade pivot razor. They are sharp, cheap, and glide smoothly over...

Re: Keeping Cella from going bad

I have a tub of cella that seems to last to infinity. I have a very small rotation, and cella has its regular spot. So I am eventually nearing the bottom. To your question... I leave it open just until I am done with my mornign shave routine and ready to head out of the bathroom. That bit of air dry...

my 'superlather'...

Everyone knows the story of super lathers... that wonderous concoction of two or more shave creams added together, with the result often more pleasing than the two separately. Here's mine... I travel quite a bit, but usually just one or two overnights at a time. So I can go with a small portion of s...

Re: RazoRock New Classic

Bob, thanks for the reply. I had used the prior versions with a similar conclusion as you. They were good enough to stay in the rotation, but I was ready for something new and favored others instead. May have to give these artisans a try. Thanks..
