I really liked the golf swing analogy. I suppose that explains why my short game has improved so much over the years. The shaves are pretty good too.

Jed, many of my shaves during a given week don't even use ATG and they don't need to. Once enough proficiency is gained with a DE, a WTG and XTG is all I need. Is is perfectly smooth all around? No, but it's more than smooth enough for my purposes. I may add ATG as an extra touch for special occasio...

Squire, I do agree that just about any can be made to work. Some are more forgiving than others. The less forgiving ones can get more done per pass but require greater care in doing so. I also find each blade gives the finished product a different feel. It's all about mastering the use of the tools ...

I've been alternating between the Greek Bic's and the Derby Extras for some time now. One thing I noticed is that as my technique has improved, I don't seem to be running into issues with inconsistent blades. I suspect that as I've learned to shave with much less pressure then I used to, I'm allowin...

I have never played it but there is a state park about 15 minutes to the south of my location that has an official course for this. I also see they have a bulletin board with info on leagues and such.

Tim - Gio from Tryphon had sent me a shave stick of one of his own soaps some time back. He must have gotten the plastic stick container from somehere. Might be worth dropping him a line to find out.

Kent - I know what you mean, some stuff is like that. But letting your lather soak in before you start shaving is definitely one of the best ways of softening your beard, and it works every time. Some use a pre-shave product, some use a longer shower, some use extra-hot water aplied directly to the...

No need to discuss that. The Bruins are better. The Wild... or the Stars (closest team to me.) But the Bruins are tearing it up! And they'll find it's totally meaningless without a Stanley Cup parade to show for it. As Buffalo did recently. ------------------------------- Kent As a lifelong Sabres ...

Castor and olive oil, w/ a touch of EO to mask the offensive odor of the olive. I think you'll find it is castor oil that is the stinky one. Of course, if you want to learn to shave fast, drink the castor oil. You'll soon find your speed increasing as you remember a pressing appointment elsewhere.....

Sooner or later, an honest open discussion will need to happen between you two about what's really going on. Now that you have read her emails, it might have to be sooner. Approach it calmly and do not in any way take an accusatory tone. How she reacts will tell you a lot. It may create a lot of ten...

This is a situation you need to be very careful about. Bottom line is that you know info that you are not supposed to know. If you bring it up to someone of importance in your company, it could put you in a negatove light that you don't want to be in. You sound like you were happy with your pay befo...

If anything, I think going the face route may have brought up some deficiencies in my lather when created in a bowl. I did try the hand once and was surprised how well it worked. I also find I'm using a lot less cream to get the proper lather. I don't think lather needs to be very thick in order to ...

Sounds like you are looking for a very powerful scent to go with your soap. I've taken to the Aloe and Cucumber variety. I have tried Oatmeal & Almond as wel as the Lavender but the Aloe one works best. Speaking of Yardley's, I need some more bars. I will be stocking up later this week at the lo...

I use Yardley's every day so I was somewhat surprised about the coated with petroleum comment. I've used some soaps and washes that made me feel like I was super coated with the stuff but I've never had that feeling with Yardley's. Could you be mistaking the superior moisturizing properties for the ...

Lots of very good thoughtful responses which is why I like coming here. :D When you lather in your palm or your face, you get more of that "tactile feel" that Mantic mentions in his video tutorials. Could be that I thought I was building superior lather in a bowl or cup when I was not. It ...
