Of the four you mentioned, Yardley is the only one worth pursuing IMHO. It's the best performing soap I've ever used. The modern day equivalent is AoS Lavender, but the AoS still falls just short in the performance department. The eBay market for Yardley has been all over the place lately, but is do...

You almost have me with the Manchurian hair. If you label it "Vulpson" instead of "Simfix," you just may push me over the edge. :D

Bump. Read the first post if you are local and interested. I'm planning on buying a few items soon and it would be great if I could get some additional people in on some orders so we could get free shipping.

Kiss My Face
Trader Joe's Honey-Mango
Nancy Boy
Proraso

All of the above are fantastic when used brushless. Of them, Nancy Boy is the only one I prefer with a brush, but not by much.

I enjoy using Proraso in both cream and liquid forms. They should fit your requirements.

I'll have to chime in as a Pre de Provence fan. In my experience, it is a top notch product in the price, performance, and scent departments. I'm fond of the ASB as well, particularly in the winter months. I find PdP very easy to lather, so perhaps it is more sensitive to the local water than other ...

Thank goodness the Yardley is gone! It took long enough. I was starting to really wonder about the state of the wetshaving comminity.

I received two Saddleback wallets for my birthday this past November. A small and a medium both in Dark Coffee Brown. I've been using the medium and really like it. I'll probably give the small a try in a few months when the weather is warmer and I'm wearing lighter clothing.

1983. My Dad taught me in an empty Target parking lot. We drove his '75 BMW 1600. By the time I got my DL, he had upgraded to a diesel VW Rabbit. I switched between it and a '64 Corvair convertible until i saved enough money in '84 to buy a '78 VW Scirocco, my very first car owned by me. Thanks to m...

One of my favorites. I've never had a problem with it. I've always felt like it dried quickly and left my face smooth, sealed, and protected. I always apply to a wet palm, distribute between hands, and rub/pat it into a face still damp from a cold water rinse. As far as ingredients go, I always thou...

I have a lot of favorites. Perhaps some top threes are in order. No particular order, actually. All out performance: 1. Vintage Yardley 2. AoS Lavender 3. Penhaligon's English Fern (tallow) Scent: 1. Penhaligon's English Fern (tallow) 2. Pre de Provence 3. L'occitane Cade Skin Care: 1. Mitchell's Wo...

Re: In the St. Louis area for awhile

Any locals have suggestions for any good shave shops? (Or any shop, really. Nebraska isn't exactly a buyer's oasis.) Thanks! I grew up there and go back quite often. Sadly, I haven't found much available in the shaving realm. There is L'occitane, Crabtree & Evelyn, and a few smoke shops that ma...

+1 on AoS Lavender. It is the finest shaving soap in current production IMHO and is on par with the discontinued tallow based Penhaligons soaps in the performance department. I would say it's a fresh scent with a certain sharpness to it.

I never got along with the Fusion. In the short term, it gave really good results though the shaving process itself was somewhat uncomortable. In the long term it just plain tore may face up. I couldn't use it every day. Fusion aside, I regularly use a Sensor (twin). Probably 1/3 to 1/2 time these d...
