Re: ugly mug save soap

So after all these years an update. Have since purched 5 more pucks of this soap
which I use as a touch up soap after shaving with whatever I am experimenting with
at the time.

Re: Question for Squire: Why Derby?

Since my eyesight has irreversibly deteriorated beyond the point where I can see through a microscope (gave mine to a friend's 10 year old son) I'm toying with the idea of doing something with blades. Stropping perhaps, to extend their longevity, now there's ground to explore. Boont of naught perha...

Re: Experience with Ted Pella SE blades in carbon steel?

The only way to make it conclusive for yourself is to test them. Blades are possibly the most YMMV factor in traditional shaving. Let us know how you make out. I tested them a few years back and they were pretty terrible, but they may have been old stock micro rusted blades too. In no way were they...

Re: Sputnik Blades Reviewed

An update to this last post. This blade has, once again, come up in my rotation and I am on shave 32 in my Slant with, I suppose a few shaves more to go. I rated the blade "Recommended" at 6 shaves........for me the rest are merely a matter of curiosity. Start out with the nimble G1000 tha...

Re: I've been thinking about getting a Futur

I have a matte Futur which has been in my regular rotation for over a decade. I have experimented with wrapping the handle in quarter inch rubber bands but have come once again to settle on the handle as it is. While the weight does not cause my fingers to ache I find it useful in applying the "...

I get a kick out of stretching blades but the most I ever drove a DE to was 29 with a Derby. 8)

Re: Safety razor of the Day DE or SE

My current rotation includes DEs, an injector and a Contour 2 SE. About the only thing left on a prospective
shopping list might be a better looking SE razor. 8)

Re: Gem Micromatic.

My rotation has evolved into DE than SE [Ted Pella] than DE than Injector TP and "Chick" blades than DE etc I also enjoy readjusting to the technique involved in each of these types of razors. Pella blades are not as initially sharp as the Gems or Treets in my SE experience but give me 22-...
