Wendell, thanks for the heads up. My Walmart doesn't sell any DEs, but it does have a decent supply of VDH brushes and soap.
We have a second Walmart not too far away, so I'll drop by some time to see what they carry.

The price at Rite-Aid
Since I have become interested in DE shaving a month ago I have been researching DE blades on the internet, and find that good blades can be had for $20.00 for 100.
Imagine my surprise when I found Gillette DE blades at my local Rite-Aid, 10 for $9.99!

Tom Wilkerson was a hall-of-fame quarterback for the Edmonton Eskimos back in the 70s. I met him once. Nice guy. Tom Wilk IN son, yes, he played in the first football games I can remember watching as a kid. NTS, I stand corrected. Good thing I didn't make a bet! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Wil...

I work very near a mall with two Bath and Body Works stores (one on each level), so I stopped by today and picked up a tube of the Bigelow with eucalyptus oil (Proraso green). Like your experience, Killian, the four tubes in stock were on the back of the shelf near the wall; but the salesclerk found...

I was given a jar of C-M sandalwood maybe ten years ago, and put it aside and never used it. I came across it maybe five years ago and tried it. It lathered so poorly that I figured it wasn't supposed to lather. I've used it as a brushless shave cream a couple of times since. But I still have the ja...

Where in NC are you? There are a lot of SMFers in NC, myself included. I'm in Four Oaks, 40 miles east of the Raleigh/Durham airport, near Smithfield, smack in the middle of tobacco and sweet potato country! We have a Bath and Body Works outlet in Smithfield. I found a website yesterday which said ...

Thanks for your prompt responses, guys. Gordon, it's interesting that you should mention Barbasol because that is what I am using now. As you can see from my post count, I am new here, and have just started to read the many threads. It never occurred to me to use distilled water. I'll give it a try.

May I assume that if it doesn't say "brushless", i
I used hard shaving soap with a brush for a number of years. But five years ago I moved to an area with very hard water, and I can't get a lather with the hard soap. I have recently decided to try brushless shave cream as a step up from the usual drug store chemical foam I have been using since the ...
