I finally took the plunge into scraping a large sharp blade across my face and still am quite terrible at it. I have a total now of 2 shaves under my belt. Oh I can get a smooth shave from 2 WTG passes (comparable to my DE - 1WTG and 1 XTG)...but bad angles around my lower neck leave me quite raw an...

My initial sample pack was sent in a ziplock bag, so most go there. The others are just thrown under the sink....organization is not my strong suit.

I have used the AOS oil and T&H oil (both samples) as well as the King of Shave oil and olive oil. To me they are all the same, which means they sort of work. I think with a canned foam they would work extremely well, but with a brush and soap/cream they tend to get lost. I mean think about it, ...

I dig the AOS soap as well. Given that we have compared this to TOBS and Trumpers, lets complete the cycle. How does it compare to Harris and T&H soaps?

I think my method should be considered a hybrid. I run a little water over the soap and let it set for a little bit so that the water softens the soap. I then soak the brush in hot water, shake out the excess water, drain excess water from my cake of soap, twirl the shaken brush on the soap, and fin...

Andrew, I am with you. I only have the Lemon soap but have visited the AOS store numerous times and smelled each soap on display. I could easily pass a blindfold challenge.

I use the Thayer's Lavender and although the scent is nice, I dont think it really does anything for me. Indeed if I use this alone without the application of a more traditional aftershave, I always feel like something is missing. Unlike the others who have posted, I dont plan on keeping witch hazel...

Dovo Special vs Dovo Ebony Silver Steel

Hey fellas, I plan on taking the plunge into straights and curious what others think of these two razors, both by their shave quality as well as overall aesthetics. I tend to be leaning to the Silver Steel razor, but can be easily swayed either way by a convincing arguement. BTW, in either situation...

The ones I tried were bought approx 3 months ago, so unsure if they have changed or not. Interestingly, after this post I scanned reviews on B&B and was surprised to find that the older posts rated them as poor but newer posts rated tham as better. Of course this is simply an observation and not...

I disagree that these Gillettes are horrible. I feel these blades are good not great, probably akin to blades in the 6.5-6.75 range, using Squire's system. For me, this range places them close to Swedes, at least according to Squire (I agree with his rating of 6.75 for Swedes. I feel that they are g...
