Has anyone tried the DSCosmetic ZO?
Has anyone tried the DSCosmetic ZO razor? It is supposed to be similar to the original 2011 Muhle R41 and is available on AliExpress. I bought one and it's all stainless steel. I selected the "Normal Stainless Handle", which looks like the R41 handle. I have never tried the original R41 bu...

Re: My adventure with a Muhle R41
Pauldog, I have never tried the 2011 version. How do you know it's a 2011 R41? I am always looking for a closer shave. I own the 2013 R41.

Re: My adventure with a Muhle R41
How old is your 2011 R41? How much have you used it. Is it the 3 piece model? How much would you charge me to buy it?

Re: My adventure with a Muhle R41
Pauldog, I am no expert on used razors but I would assume the 2011 R41 would be worth more with the head and handle, even as a collectors item. I saw one recently on Ebay for $200 but it was a new one in the box. I saw another for for $78 used with a few scratches. When you sell a used razor, does i...

Re: My adventure with a Muhle R41
If you have the 2011 version, it's worth some money. If you have the 2013 version, that's what I use. I use Astra SP blades. I get a very close shave and a very smooth shave all the time.

Whch Handle Did You Buy For Your Safety Razor
If you decided not to use the handle that came with your double edge safety razor, what did you buy to replace it?

Re: Muhle R41 vs Merkur Futur
I did buy the R41 and I love it! I do get closer shaves with it vs. the Futur or the Futur clone. I am on day 3 and have not cut myself yet. I don't find it to be the "beast" that it is reputed to be. I'm getting the best shaves of my life! It works great with an Astra blade!

Re: Muhle R41 vs Merkur Futur
Hi Brutus, yes your reply is very helpful! I think I will try the R41. How do you like your Chinese Futur clone? I bought one and think it's excellent!

Muhle R41 vs Merkur Futur
I have read that the Muhle R41 is very aggressive. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether it is more aggressive that the Merkur Futur set at its most aggressive setting? Which wold provide the closest shave?

Clive, it's not hard to hold onto while shaving as long as there is no soap on the handle. Ali Express has the best prices.

Ming Shi Double Edge Razor Blades
I like my Ming Shi 2000S razor so much I decided to try one of the free Ming Shi blades that came with it. After shaving with one for a week, my opinion is that it is an excellent blade! I got close, comfortable shaves every day with my Ming Shi 2000S set at 6, which is the most aggressive setting. ...

Re: Hardware Review - Qshave or Ming Shi Shaver 2000S
I've read that Qshave and Ming Shi 2000S are made in the same factory and are the same razor. I got a Ming Shi razor recently and I already own a Futur. The Ming Shi gives me a closer shave than the Futur using a setting of 6. I also find that the handle is not slippery as long as there is no soap o...

To: Basil...Your Favorite DE Blade Currently Available
Hi Basil, I saw your post about Astra blades being your favorite. I just tried my first one and it was the one in the green and white package. I was surprised at how smooth and sharp it was and how long it lasted. The only drawback was that I cut myself often and it might be because it is so smooth ...

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Mike, you said you tried oodles of blades but did you try the Feather blade? Do you remember how it compared to the Astra?
I am curious, why did you switch to SE's?
Thanks,
Steve

Astra vs. Feather
I just tried an Astra blade for the first time. I was surprised at how smooth and sharp it is. It was so smooth that I think I got careless and cut myself quite often. The blade lasted a long time and they are restively inexpensive. Now I have a Feather in my razor to compare the two. The Feather is...
