Are you saying the cream formula was changed? I thought it was just the package volume and price increase. I would be heartbroken if it is changed.

bath

I got the "refill pucks" in the mail today. It's bath soap. It appears that I saw the front picture and assumed it was the shave soap. T&H was very gracious in offering an exchange.

Petr, Because of your comment, I tried the ~80 year old puck this morning. It lathered beautifully, just as the newer Yardleys, but once lathered, had very little lavender scent. An excellent shave, nevertheless. Stan Stan, that is very helpful information. That one old (and expensive) puck turned ...

I managed to pick up a very old puck like the first one pictured. 1930's? Wow. It was as hard as a rock and completely unlatherable.

T&H is a slick marketing machine, you have to give them that. Phenomenal packaging and website. I do love sandalwood. Oh my I do. I saw this thread - before so much input - and ordered the soap. Doh  I thought the T&H soap was well regarded, but I suppose it has been a few years since...

This has been a fascinating post. It is unsettling though to add one more variable to the mix - product malfunction. I have to agree. There has to be something to this. When I started pucks of a couple of items they were great and then performance dropped. I wrote it off to the seasons, humidity, he...

The SMN pre post has the same fragrance as Melagrano 'Pomegrante" SMN aftershave. It's a lovely product. I like is just as much as an AS as a pre-shave. The cream? Magnifico! Is it the same? Ask Hatfield or McCoy. The scent is medicinal, which is the only reason I keep other soaps in rotation. ...

I have shaved the new DrH Rose the last two days. (Gillette tech with a feather) I like it a lot. It is difficult to know if it is the exact same formula as the metal tube stuff I purchased a case of 10 years ago. In texture it is more runny, not as thick. But, it does have that same richness (densi...

The Gentleman's Refinery Balm has your name written all over it.

I am also fond of aloe based product with witch hazel for the burn and dry skin: castle forbes, ginger's garden, and olivias.

I also began using a Gillette Tech because I find it not as aggressive - perfect for me.

Ken, Yeah, but there's new paraban free stuff now being sold in Britain, and it's definately different. What we're still getting in the US is the older type, the new version hasn't arrived here yet. That's why I phrased my post the way I did. This new cream is suppossedly not supplied by Creightons...

It is a shame to think that SMN is the same product as bigelow.

Their marketing is pretty sharp in the elitist "you can't have this" kind of way.

I've been wanting to try it for ages.

Can you guys believe there are tubs around? I had a guy offer me a tub for 125$ and he was dead serious.

I started on Cotes Sandalwood. I had some rough shaves on the learning curve and can hardly look of the stuff now.

Well, this was a nice tip. Nothing like you guys to enable a fella.

I ordered the harris rose from connaught. Shipping is quite reasonable.

I'm hopeful that the new cream is all that it once was. I'm going to blast it, (or give a honest review) if it is not.
