Re: Trumpers hard shaving soap- my review

So Matt has the broken version of the soap, but it works for him.... Hmmm weird things, these guys at Trumpers have messed things up.

The confusion that they made, keeps us from buying. Sometimes I wonder, why people want to change things when they are working.....

Re: Today a package from Turkey arrived....

An update: The lather of ARKO looks fantastic, I mean it's the ideal one! I am amazed how easy it is to lather up the soap. However, it might look ideal but it doesn't provide much caution since I get many nicks with a sharp blade. I can see the differece in price now, when I compare my yesterday's ...

Re: Trumpers hard shaving soap- my review

Maybe a picture from the ingredients list will help us. Also if Brother has a picture of the lemon soap that he gave away could help us compare.

Lastly, a report from wvbias who has the rose soap and reported positively could justify if we are talking about the same soap!

Do feather blades come in 5 pack? Consider buying..

Hello everyone! I was searching on ebay.co.uk for Feather blades and I found this seller hairlights4u , who is selling the blades really cheap. What I noticed though is that it is a 5 blades per pack, whereas all the vendors sell them in 10 blades per pack. The feedback is very good and I haven't se...

Re: Today a package from Turkey arrived....

Gary, I think the quality should not be compared based on the price. The majority of us, if not all, are not chemist and we don't have a clue about the prices of the ingredients or the processes. But what I can tell based on my knowledge is the economy of scale and the labour. In Turkey, there is a ...

T&H luxury soap -- The scent really describes luxury! Does anybody knows if D.R. Harris Lavender has a similar or very close scent?!

Re: Best cream for travel?

In a pinch you can shave in the shower with a Bic and bath soap but that's not recommended. My father shaves like this everyday. Just soap, a Gillette disposable that changes every 2-4 weeks and then Old Spice splash or lemon cologne. Old school, and I can assure you that his skin looks amazingly h...

Re: Today a package from Turkey arrived....

I totally agree that there are better scents, but ARKO has a clean scent as well. Sometimes cheap products just work, and if not, you don't care that much. On the contrary, everytime a product is marketed that it has super essential oils, which are good for this and that and bla bla bla, I end up th...

Today a package from Turkey arrived....

... and you guess right, it is ARKO shaving soap!!! I shaved with it and I have to say that the lather it creates is phenomenal! Really slick and lathers up amazingly easy! The shave was really comfortable and close, the only drawback is that after 15 minutes I noticed that my skin was a bit dry. Ho...

Re: Treet Classic Dura Sharp Coated Blades, a Review

Just check it after second day of use (be careful not 2nd shave, because the interval might be longer). Don't expect to see the rust in the edges, but near the center of the blade. It is not the best thing to shave with a rusted blade and get a cut!

Re: What do you consider the best value blade?

For me it is Gillette 7 o'clock Sharp Edge (made in Russia). I can get a really smooth and close shave 6-7 times and the quality is consistent for each blade. Feathers are good and a bit more sharp but much more expensive, plus they do not forgive. Therefore I choose the Gillette for everyday use, s...

Merkur HD Treet Durasharp Shavemac D01 24mm D.R.Harris Windsor Today, after a long time a lathered in a bowl instead on my face. The leather appeared much more foamy and didn't have the slickness I get when I facelather. It seems to me that face-lather works way much better than lathering in a bowl....

Re: Treet Classic Dura Sharp Coated Blades, a Review

This blade is really nice and comfortable when I go only with the grain. Really smooth shave, but not for going XTG or against! Its lifetime is very short, usually 2-3 shaves of 1 pass. However, you should be aware that since it is a carbon blade after day 3 you will notice rust -- yes rust -- formi...

Re: D.R. Harris, now is the time for a Rose soap!

By the way, since this post is somehow relevant: Do you have any suggestions for a good rose product?

I was thinking of T&H Rose cream just to give it a try. D.R. Harris has one as well, anybody tried both to compare the scent and performance?
