Thursday:

Razor: Merkur HD
Blade: Derby Extra
Cream: TOBS Lavender
Aftershave: Thayers Extra Strength After Shave

After trying Merkur and Dorco blades, I could feel the difference with the Derby's. The closest I've ever got, and less sting than usual.

I wouldn't be embarrassed, I had the same mental picture in my head of DE razors being as big as disposables. I was quite shocked when I received my Merkur HD a few weeks ago.

Razor: Merkur HD
Blade: Dorco
Brush: Van Der Hagan
Soap: Col. Conk Bay Rum
AS: Thayers Extra Strength After Shave

Got a sample pack of blades today, along with the soap. It probably wasn't the best idea to try a new blade with a new soap, but the shave wasn't that bad.

I just got into classical wet shaving in the past few weeks, so my cache of supplies isn't quite large yet enough to warrant a post here everyday. Monday Razor: Merkur HD Blade: Merkur Super Platinum Brush: Vulfix #2234 Shaving Cream: TOBS Lavender After Shave: Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera For...

Thank you all for your advice. kaptain_zero, your tip helped make a bit better of a lather. After reading all of your guy's advie, I think I'll keep practicing with what I have now, and order some better equipment. Once again, thank you all for being so helpful. I also got a bar of Van Der Hagen at ...

I'm in the States. The brush I've had in mind since I started lurking here a few days ago is one of the Vulfix Best Badger brushes, so I guess any where around or below $50.00.

Can't get a good lather.

Hello, all. I’m new to the forum, and I must say this website is one of the most helpful and polite forums I’ve ever been on. I've always wet shaved, and learned with Bic Metals. However, I’ve been using cheap pivoting dual blades. After reading through the forum, I’ve gone back to using Metals for ...
