Re: Where to buy straight razor pins?

This is an easy one. ebay; Classic shaving; Maggard Razors; Naked Armor straight razors. Not from my memory, just a couple of seconds logging into google.

Re: Razor recommendations for shaving your head?

My plan for no hair on the head is working brilliantly well. I do nothing except keep on having birthdays every year, and I'm almost to the point that the hair is completely gone, requiring no mechanical processes whatsoever. It seems to be an automatic biological process.

Re: Straight shave howto video, Moss Scuttle Howto & acronym

This would be unnecessary. Think for a moment about the fact that it's a vessel for hot water to transfer heat to the exterior of the bowl where the soap/lather resides. Do I ever contemplate cleaning out the inside of the 50 gallon hot water heater that sits in my garage, or the pipes through which...

Re: Chess

I'm glad that your son's playing the game with you now. Oh, and I hope he gives you a serious challenge for victory! :D At 11 or 12 I started trying to learn chess with one of my schoolmates. It was as basic as one gets when there's no mentor. Soon I learned I had a very cool uncle who was, by his o...

General razor - newly redesigned model

The original design General from Colonial has provided hundreds of exemplary shaves since I discovered it. Now the gents at Colonial have released a redesigned version of the General. I've shaved with it twice now, and will continue to do so until I've been able to understand how the changes are wor...

Re: boars for soaps, synthetic/badger for cream?

It's a peculiar fact that after I started using synthetics I've lost the ability to build a successful lather with my boar brushes - soap or cream. Badgers still work as well as ever. It beats me! I kept 3 boars for sentimental reasons.

Re: The state of the current English Shaving soaps

I am surprised that it appears Penhaligons is not selling any shave soaps now. Both UK and USA websites list pitifully minimal lathering and brushless shaving cream options. Big on the fragrances. DR Harris has updated/reformulated their tallow shaving soaps for the better, according to recent repor...

Re: experience with vintage badger

I picked up some vintage shaving brushes- I plan to get into refurbishing old brushes with new knots and selling them on eBay. A lot of vintage brushes are much smaller than modern ones, and it might be harder to find smaller knots to fit them. There's one place (shavemac?) with smaller badger knot...

My favorite driver Martin Truex Jr. just won today's Nascar race in Las Vegas. This gives him 5 wins this season. As of now, there are 9 races remaining this year. The dude is an outstanding driver. His car's owner is Joe Gibbs, former head coach of one of the NFL teams.

General razor - newly redesigned - now on sale

I don't know how much better than the current design it could possibly be, but for what it's worth, I've already ordered mine (stainless steel) and the website indicates they haven't sold out as of this moment. Here's the link: https://colonialrazors.com/collections/ ... he-general

Re: when is a blade dull?

Maybe there are two possibilities - dull blade or irritation from the lather/brush. I don't know about a dull cartridge, but I am familiar with how a burn can result from a pH chemical reaction or a reaction to some unusual scrubbing action between the skin/soap/brush. I would lean toward the latter.
