Re: new mergress

:D I'm sure you're right! In the beginning I was reluctant to have the procedure, but now it seems that I must be envious of the guys who took the plunge when I was being stubborn.

Re: Corn Nuts

Just for general information, fresh CornNuts are widely available retail at about the same as a sack of chips. Also, dry hominy is available on the web for somewhere around $7 or so per pound. Note: I'm frequently mistaken, so please correct me!

Re: new mergress

Evidently Mer is incommunicado regarding individual overhauls of used Progresses for individuals, even though he's obviously under contract with Phil. I'm not keen on buying a brand new Mergress when I have a perfectly good Progress that would benefit from a retrofit. He might have taken the time to...

Re: Friday's shave

Got up early today, had some occasions to be out and around today for Necessities, had a very nice shave to put me on the road feeling good about my appearance, and I always enjoy my shave!

Re: Does anybody miss the old days and getting a barber Shop Shave?

I'm another one who's never received a shave at the hands of someone else. I have nothing against it, just never had the occasion to come up.

When I find myself watching the show I will try to imagine the gent as a devotee of wet shaving. Interesting angle.🤔

John, thanks for keeping me on the correct path.🙄 Your post reminds me of something my English teacher wrote in the corner of my homework a very long time ago.

Re: SilkSmoke synthetic brush

Tim, I sold my shoebox filled with old handles last year. Bad timing! Otherwise, I'd give you one and mount it for you. Just to be sure, I'll go through my old stuff and see if there are any more that I've forgotten about.

Re: SilkSmoke synthetic brush

Thanks for the update, Gary. 1. What size knots have you used? 2. Does Vladimir Ferdman sell finished brushes, or do you have to provide the knot? 3. Are these knots available in finished brushes by anyone else? - Murray Murray, when I'm using one of my own handles, I pretty much try to go by the s...

Re: SilkSmoke synthetic brush

Two years later, the SilkSmoke brush has proven itself to be indispensable. I also have a very few workhorse badger brushes that are in the same class, but almost never used regularly. For a short period of time I thought I could resurrect one of my 4 remaining boars, but that didn't end well. I hav...

Clive, this set is a nice piece of Gillette/shaving memorabilia.
