Re: Omega 80005 boar

This humble little brush is new to me, and I'm pleased to have it. In time it may become one of my favorites.

Re: Brush of the day

Yesterday I received a new Omega 10005 boar brush through Amazon and used it for the first shave this morning. It's smaller 25mm x 53mm than the massive Semogue 30mm x 60mm 2000. Their respective handles are very similar in dimension and both are made of wood. The compact but efficient Omega brush d...

Re: re Fine Accoutrements tallow shaving soap

In response to several inquiries regarding my source for the 2 pucks of Fine Snake Bite soap, I bought mine from QED Shaving. I've just checked this morning, and all of the scents are still showing in stock, except Snake Bite. The proprietor is Charles, one of the first to join SMF as a member many ...

Re: SOTD November 23 - November 29

The dominant boar Semogue 2000 brush is feather soft due to the extremely separated tips. This contributes to a daily shave that meets all of my expectations and perceptions.

Found - Semogue SOC boar brush

I'm looking to buy a Semogue SOC boar brush. Resin or wood handle is fine.

Edit: I got one. Thanks Sergio!

Re: Feedback wanted Semogue SOC boar - not badger

Murray and Bryan, thanks for your thoughtful responses. It's a pretty brush, and seems to have a good reputation, based on a great many reviews I have seen. I'm not sure why my sudden interest, other than the fact I've been using my favorite boar brush - the Semogue 2000 - for several days now, afte...

Re: Joke of the Day

:D It is a clever move in the game, but I'd never tell a client to mail an intentionally false demand for an amount exceeding what is owed and threatening to take action to get it. Prosecutors get excited about mail fraud and or extortion (and particularly are enraged by lawyers - soon to be disbarr...

Re: Sudoku anyone?

Overnight my subconscious must have figured something out. It got easier to spot where to put the missing numbers. Maybe this will help speed things up. I understand a lot of folks write possible numbers in the boxes, but I am striving to be able to solve the puzzle without any errors which in my ca...

Feedback wanted Semogue SOC boar - not badger

What do we know? Too stiff or floppy? Break in experience - fast or slow, easy or not? Any problems to report or good reports? Overall performance?

Re: Sudoku anyone?

My own shortest record time to a solution with zero mistakes is a little over 12 minutes, and usually much longer. The website I see tells me that about 95% of everyone else solves theirs much faster (with zero mistakes) than I do. I just can't even imagine someone solving one of the puzzles with no...

Re: re Fine Accoutrements tallow shaving soap

Hypotheticals can be fun, for example - what if the shut-down was actually ignited by a notice to the supplier from M&W-Tabac that after a certain date M&W would no longer be a customer for whatever reason? Hmmm ---

Re: Friday's shave

For Friday's shave I used the Semogue 2000 boar brush along with a one day outing with the Vetiver Bourbon tallow soap. Tomorrow will mark the beginning of several Art of Shaving creams and a soap for the remainder of the year.

Re: Bad news - suddenly a shedder

This morning seemed to be as good as any to give the 2000 another try after the shedding fiasco 9 months ago. The soap was Asylum Bourbon Vetiver from BullGoose (Phil). The lather was great and there were zero problems with the brush. Now it's back among the favorites. I learned a lesson from this s...
