Re: SE expert an SMF treasure

Paul, which slants are you currently using in your rotation? Have you had an opportunity to check out the currently available slant head that is sold by Italian Barber? I think he calls it 37 German because it is a clone of the old original 1937 German Bakelite slant razor.

Re: Homemade Cedarwood soap - 4 years old

Yesterday I stumbled onto my old files that contain the recipe and the step by step directions I used. I recall I had a lot more energy back then. Even if I could make myself some soap again, when would I ever get around to actually using it? I'm sitting on 8 (soon to be 7) 5 year old tubs of some r...

Re: Review - The Art of Shaving

I noticed that a while back AOS offered a Vetiver Citron fragrance shaving cream for a limited time, but never got around to getting one for myself. I probably should buy one while they're still available on a couple of the most publicized internet outlets. I have too much stuff now, and chasing fra...

Re: What does DR Harris Arlington smell like?

I've always enjoyed the Arlington and Marlborough scents , but, try as I might, I couldn't accommodate Almond, Windsor, Lavender, and Sandalwood .

Re: Libraries

This reminded me of a time when I had a job that allowed me to travel throughout the state. I've always enjoyed browsing among the shelves and was in the habit of visiting the local libraries whenever I could. They would always have a different assortment of my favorite authors, rare books, or new r...

Re: Bay Rum Shaving Soap Release with 20% Off

Fragrance oils are synthetics created in a lab and made to mimic other smells. Perfume chemistry. Normally the FO makers don't list the specific chemical compounds that are used, and some of those may be skin irritants or otherwise undesirable.

Re: Homemade Cedarwood soap - 4 years old

It's becoming apparent that the delightful homemade soap I'm currently using has 2 or 3 weeks left before it expires in an avalanche of thick rich lather. When it runs out I think I should re-activate the Salter's Solid shaving soap that was working so well a little short of a month ago when I sudde...

Re: Vintage Hammam - first impression

Does anyone have any tips for opening a stuck glass stopper? I could open the bottle before but I'm having trouble opening it now... Ive tried to put it in the fridge for awhile but with no result. The rubber gloves is a good suggestion. I recommend holding the neck of the bottle under a stream of ...

Re: Probably not the healthiest, but good

My wife's family used to have something called bread pudding, and it was a popular treat when they got together for dinners. She still makes it on occasion. It doesn't sound very similar to the one you're discussing, other than the name. But then again, I confess I don't know what she puts in it. Co...
