Re: What's for supper?

. . . . the BP is doing good, the LDL/HDL in Sept' 1 was 43/72 (not a typo), and I'm doing good. (I had a triple bypass in early June after an extremely mild heart attack) I did cheat a bit on Saturday... I allow myself 2 eggs per week, so I had them and 2 very thin slices of lower sodium Spam, fri...

gary, how long do you pot roast for? for me anyway, there seems to be a line--8'ish hours'-- where on one side meat is tough and on the other its fork tender. lately which side of the line im on has been a flipcoin

clive
Clive, this time it was at least 9 hours, possibly 9 1/2 - 10.

Re: What's for supper?

Tonight we had a pot roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions. It was all day in the crock pot. Made a very good old country supper. So tender!

Re: Mitchell's Wool Fat and Hard Water

John, you may choose to buy another MWF puck, or maybe trade for one. My experience with MWF in the beginning was that I could not force it to lather no matter how hard I tried. I was a failure at it. I gave it to my son and swore I'd never waste any more time trying. After a while I asked him to gi...

Re: Tabac inspired

Last year I got a good deal on some refill sticks of Tabac. This week I put one in an old Irisch Moos tube (same manufacturer) and will be using it up from start to finish now through the end of the year.

Re: Nascar 2018

I'm still following the Nascar races. They're currently in the playoffs. There are 8 remaining drivers who are eligible to win the championship. All they've got to do is ---- WIN! Some guys get pretty desperate and find themselves in the midst of a big crash. Next race is tomorrow.

21 shaves on this Kai Mild blade. This is the point I usually start wondering if my blade should be discarded. Today's result was just as expected - excellent as usual.

Re: Joke of the Day

I'm one of those passengers who arrives at the airport five or six hours early so I can throw back a few drinks and muster up the courage to board the plane. Apparently I'm not alone because I've never been in an empty airport bar. I don't care what time you get there. Even at 8:00 a.m. you have to ...

Have you used the most recent formulation of D.R.Harris shaving soap for a direct comparison?
My comparison is based on my last encounter with a DRH soap several years ago.

What made you smile today?

Today I was sitting here thinking my usual random thoughts, when I realized I was smiling. Why? There is an unwritten law that requires humans to be pretty much the same size. I'm not talking about a couple of inches or feet or pounds, I'm talking about the fact that nobody walks around 30 feet tall...
