Monday morning's Razor of the Day is a straight razor - Puma INOX stainless.
It's going to join forces with the hard-to-get Caswell-Massey ROS brush-optional shaving cream.

Re: SOTD April 1 - April 7, 2024
Friday morning's gear was Caswell-Massey ROS shaving cream, yep, another brush-optional. The brush was SynBad synthetic. I used the wet brush to spread the shaving cream. It was a good shave all around.

This morning I had the pleasure of using my Caswell Massey Almond brush-optional shaving cream. After my shower I scooped out a generous quantity of cream and applied it to my face. Then I picked up one of the Badger brushes and I did not expect a lather. I wet the tips of the brush in water and pro...

Re: Short Caswell Massey Almond SC honeymoon
Looking back 13 years ago --- I was wrong! Things have gone awry in happy CM land, unfortunately. Smells great, that's a positive. Does make a lather that is slick and protective, and lends itself to a very smooth shave, another positive, and then there's this "other thing" -- it seems tha...

Re: Which straight razor did you use today?
Yes, a little rusty. Yesterday I used the Hart Steel razor and had another very enjoyable experience. I've learned something different about using straights, as far as my own face is concerned. The passage of time has made the contour of my chin permanently too rough and rugged for the open blades. ...

Monday's shave was provided by the Hart straight razor and the General, and the cream was Caswell Massey Almond brushless.
I think I should make it a habit to use one of the open razors on Monday every week for a while.

Jim, when or should I say IF I make it to 80, and still shaving, I plan to go back to my old electric Norelco rotary head razor (if it still works then).

Re: Synthetic Siblings
Murray, I bought all four of them separately. SilkSmoke and SynBad knots came from APShave Co. The handle on the SilkSmoke came from Semogue with a different painted finish that it has now. I did something unusual and ended up ruining the painted decor on the Semogue handle. I salvaged it by removin...

Re: Which straight razor did you use today?
Today's razor is a Torrey. I confess I haven't used any straight razors in quite a while. I dressed the edge on the jasper stone, followed up with a good strop. Because of the circumstances, I only used the open razor on 2/3 of my whiskers, because I wanted to avoid any damage to my face, I didn't s...

Synthetic Siblings
After six (6) years, this morning I decided to retire the SilkSmoke brush in my current brush rotation and replace it with the SynBad Mesquite synthetic. Note: This is a post I made here in October of 2018 but I can't locate it anywhere now. --- "Here is a photo of the SynBad synthetic next to ...

Re: Open razors - the chosen few
The last time I posted in this thread was the last time I shaved with any of my Straight razors. I have abandoned them unintentionally. As we all know, time travels fast as we get older. Nonetheless, I have not fully forgotten my beautiful straight razors in the drawer in the cabinet, and therefore ...

I'm still clinging to the hope that jww might provide us with a few words regarding all of this MWF intel. I suspect Wendall isn't buying the new product every time they change it again, but I also suspect he's just a bit curious!

Re: Cats
Nothing wrong with cats! In our house we currently have only one little animal friend at the moment, an 8 month old kitty cat named Cocoa.
Over the decades we've had multiple dog and/or cat friends at random times due to the kids. We love 'em all. (Kids and animals )

Re: Green tea
Hi Jim, it's good to see you here. :D My story is similar. For example, I love the dark chocolate any way I can get it, and I enjoy my daily large green tea. On the other hand, after reading the health benefits from Apple Cider vinegar, I picked up a big bottle of it at the grocery store a couple of...
