Adjustable injector - what adjusts?

I've seen lots of pictures of adjustable injectors on E-bay, etc., but never having handled one I'm wondering what is it that adjusts when you turn the dial? Part 2 (if it's not obvious from the answer to the first question): How does it affect the way it shaves? I have a couple non-adjustables. The...

I think experimentation is part of the true nature of this wetshaving beast. It is for me, at least. I ended up here because I wondered if there was something better than the path I'd been on - cans of foam or gel, the yellow & white bics through the sensor(s). I treated it as an experiment when...

Someone (sorry, I don't remember who) in another thread mentioned that Ingrams Lather Cream (available on auravita.com) is a good cream, commonly available in English drugstores. It's somewhere around £ 2.

I bought a tube but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Hi Ryan, There's a thread somewhere on SMF with a longer list of e-mails for various companies. I don't have the best luck searching here . . . but here are the e-mails for the 3 T's: enquiries@trumpers.com info@truefittandhill.com sales@tayloroldbondst.co.uk Hopefully someone else can help you out ...

I have to agree with jtmo3's post. The scent makes me think "perfume," rather than sandalwood. However, it's my main cream lately, and I love the shave I get with it. I'm a newbie, and so far the only sandalwood creams I've tried are the Taylor's tub and a sample of Trumper's. To me, Trump...

Ray, I haven't had a chance to get to know you, but I know you by your business and by the opinions of people on this forum. By those measures you are a wonderful person of great character. My first wetshaving setup came from you. It's still the only brush I own and the razor is in my regular rotati...

Erasmic lather shave cream

Has anyone tried this? Auravita.com sells a 75ml tube for £ 1.68. It says it's manufactured by Keyline Brands, if that helps. I thought I might get some along with my order of Swedish Gillette blades unless it typically gets bad reviews. Someone here recommended the Ingram Lather Cream (sorry, I can...

I use an old bank I got at an antique store for $1.00. It's like a sealed tin can with a slot in the top. If you filled it with water I'd say it would hold about 14 oz. It'll hold about 400 blades easily, so I'm not going to have to worry about disposal for a while. In fact, I bet I'll run out of so...

I used those yellow & white Bic disposables and Foamy or Barbasol from a can. If I recall, the razors were 19¢ each and came individually wrapped in their own cellophane package. If you really lucked out you could get 7 for a dollar. Not that it mattered to me because my mom bought them, probabl...

When I was at my parents' last weekend for Thanksgiving I decided I'd take a look and see if I could find my dad's DE. I was going to check the date code and see what year it was so I could look for one exactly like it. As luck would have it, next to it in the drawer was a lightly-used injector, typ...

I'm in.

In fact, a couple weeks ago my wife bought me a tube of green Proraso. I don't know how she knew to buy it. I had never mentioned it to her.

Life is good.

Help picking out an injector

Hi Guys, I'm interested in trying an injector. I read a thread on here that mentioned editions L, M . . . something like that. I couldn't find it now searching. Is there a site somewhere that shows & tells what the different models are? If someone could give me a rule of thumb on which model(s) ...

I was only lurking here at the time, but I shaved with Williams. Bought a brand new cake of it so I didn't use the one that's adulterated with Palmolive.

Hi & Thanks from a new guy

Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for about three months, since I read that article on MSNBC and bought my first DE, brush & soap (Merkur Classic, Classic Shaving sandalwood soap, Vulfix 2233s, Merkur blades). I want to thank everyone for all the help I've received from this forum. So far I've...
