How many posts here is what makes someone more experienced? I have bought 5 different parkers over the years with only one not having bad quality control issues. I'm not stuck trying to sell parker razors I have bought and I am not a salesman for parker so I can give an honest opinion. People still ...

I agree. Go with a good sample pack. Everyone is different. It may cost more but it is better than you having a ton of blades you don't like. Also your tastes may change. Good luck.

I tried and gave up injectors a long time ago. Not that they were a bad shave. Actually very close. I was having a problem with ingrowns and instead of trying to alter my technique I just bailed on them and went back to my DE razors. I've neve used Bic Metals. I do still use Bic Sensitive's from tim...

you'll have plenty of thread left. you're only one or two revolutions less on the screw. remember, no pain, no gain! I modified the razor as you say. How exciting! I'll try it tomorrow. i will be quite anxious to hear your report  It still seems mild but maybe with time it will improve...

you're capable of going much higher than 6! i found out the stupid way. when i got my futur i took it apart to put a little grease on the screw threads. as you may know, there's a"stop pin" in the handle. well, while holding the spring closed and screwing in the habdle i stopped prior to ...

I find it mild at 6.5. I'd like it if it had the range to go to 13 or so but I know that is more than the mechanism is designed for. you're capable of going much higher than 6! i found out the stupid way. when i got my futur i took it apart to put a little grease on the screw threads. as you may kn...

The Progress can go higher than 5. Notice the plus sign on the adjuster knob? Max it can go 5 + 5 + 3 which equals a setting of 13 which is more aggressive than a Futur or a Vision. At this setting I got a much closer shave than with a Futur on 6.5.

The Satin finish Futur seems to me to have superior plating than other Merkur razors. It's one of the reasons I prefer it. It was also less expensive than the Chrome and Gold ones I guess being that it's more common. I also did worry that the chrome and gold plating would be inferior to the satin fi...

Interesting topic. I'd always suspect the razor to cause this or your technique, not the blades.

Honestly, it doesn't matter what you pick if its between Gillette, Merkur, EJ or Muhle. Just don't get a Parker.

To complicate matters, I'm wondering if comparing the Merkur HD head to the EJ/Muhle head on the new EJ razors is fair. Are we sure that the EJ/Merkur head was the same as the head on the Merkur HD? Since I don't own a "vintage" EJ razor I don't know for sure. This is a picture of the hea...

I'd stay away from this injector. Very hard to load the blade from current blade dispensor cartridges. I had one NOS and could barely get a blade into it. The gold plating on the head was coming off even with it being brand new status. The shave was alright but nothing to get excited about. I ended ...
