Re: Review of the "new" Mitchell's Woolfat

It should be noted that MWF has been reformulated twice recently. The version on the top is the first reformulation and it does not perform as well as the tallow version of MWF (in my opinion). The version on the bottom is the most recent reformulation of MWF and it seems to perform as well as the t...

Asylum Rx Seconds -Save $130 off MSRP

We have a few specials this week headlined by the Asylum Rx Seconds. These razors are slightly out of spec but, it does not effect the shave. When there is no blade inserted into the razor, there is a small amount of play between the two pieces of the razor head. However, with a blade inserted, it l...

He was looking for Blenheim Bouquet so he's still wet shaving. Hopefully he pops into the forum soon.

I didn't realize we hadn't heard from Clive for so long.

I hope he's alright.

I am happy to report that I heard from Clive this morning.

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

Well done, Phil! Best get your lawyer's name out to all the other sites being harassed this way. C. Thank you. I did give my attorney's information to The Shaver Shop but will reach out to the other local businesses who were sued as well. Another silver lining is that my attorney is a wet shaver so...

Oops...my error. With prejudice.

Gene wrote: Sat May 13, 2023 5:33 am Good news - congratulations, Phil. Sorry about the fees, hopefully better than a judgement though.
Thank you. Yes, definitely better than either a judgement or a settlement. It ended up being 50% of what the settlement fee would have been. It was money well spent.

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

I thought I'd give a little update. My lawyer got the case dismissed without prejudice (meaning it cannot be re-filed) He flooded the plaintiff with discovery under the penalty of perjury and the plaintiff folded like a cheap suit. I, of course, am out the lawyer fees. Even when you win, you lose. M...

Rocnel Elites Have Landed

We received a shipment from Rocnel late yesterday and have a small handful of Rocnel Elite razors and Sailor Adjustable razors. These likely will not last long so grab one while you can.

Hello Phil. I notice that "The Shave Nook" forum is no longer active. What happened? :D PS - I've just placed an order at BullGoose for those soaps and creams I've been wanting for a while. Looking forward to using them. Best Regards! Thank you Gary! I really appreciate it. When I ...

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

Perhaps the complainant is working on behalf of Gary's postulated owner, and the disbarred lawyer is just an advisor. We should look for the one online store that has not been sued, or was and immediately settled. C. Yes, the disbarred lawyer is technically acting as an advisor for several disabled...

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

From what I've seen so far it appears to be someone in the shaving goods and services market who wants to chase the competition out of town so they can scoop up the business. Otherwise they would be going after each and every website anywhere and everywhere in the realm of the ADA. If they're since...

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

Is this the same guy who bought up the domain names for a bunch of the older wetshaving vendors and then showed them the door? IIRC, he took Vintage Blades, Classic Shaving, Straight Razor Designs, and a few others. Or a different vulture? This is a different vulture. There apparently is no shortag...

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

I worked for a company quite some time ago that had something similar happen - We were sued over a supposed patent infringement. They were called patent trolls (and this was years before social media) - they would buy up patents (somehow) and then scour current technology for features currently bei...

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

drmoss_ca wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 5:13 am Is it worth approaching the local media with any of this?

C.
I have thought about that and it may very well be worth it. It's a pretty interesting story and affects a lot of businesses in the area. A good investigative reporter could no doubt uncover even more layers to this scheme.

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

I'm sorry to hear of this, Phil, and hope you whip them properly. How does a website have to be ADA compliant? Big type for visually impaired? That sounds as daft as saying all books must be in large print. C. Thank you Dr. Moss. The requirements for websites to be ADA compliant have gotten way out...

Re: Frivolous ADA Lawsuits

A regrettable misuse of the courts. What kind of a judge would entertain hearing such a case. Rhetorical question of course. Meanwhile the defendants are looking at legal fees of at least $4000 just to get it thrown out. If the court eventually orders the plaintiffs to reimburse the successful defe...
