Re: What I learned in 7 years away from the shaving forums

those are universal truths. a few dependable shaving rigs, blades, and soap or creams are all you really need. No need to go buy something just because they added a new scent. A lot of the forums and retailers do seem to be set up in a way to make a new person become a one man/one shopping trip inc...

Re: Gillette "Reintros" DE Blades

THey are merely testing the waters, seeing how well they do in select areas. It isn't to be taken as a sign of Gillette re entereing the double edge razor market. They are just starting to see that they can make money off their blades when sold in actual stores. Gillette never left the double-edge ...

Re: The Shave Tutor Videos Return!

do you have advice regarding using an alum block after the shave? I just wet my face with water, and then rub my face with the alum block. After that, I rinse my face again and then dry my face with a towel. After that, I apply aftershave or aftershave balm, if I am going to use any that day. If I ...

i have been looking for this razor for years does anyone know who bought it or where one can be found. Sure, Google is your friend. Google on "Mulcuto razor", and then click on Images when the results appear: https://goo.gl/svvvZf . Look at the images that look like the Mulcuto slant you ...

Re: soaps with no container

I have always used soaps with no container, and just put them in a shaving mug. If I get one or two extra soap pucks, they are stored in a cabinet under the bathroom sink.

Re: tapatalk and shave my face

Vince regularly gets offers to buy him out. Usually from vendors who want to have their own pet forum. He politely declines each time. C. Right on, Vince! Those vendors should know better anyways. The update from useful forum to Internet highway billboard would likely not go over well with the memb...

Re: tapatalk and shave my face

Oh, just to explain the odd arrangement here. We have an absentee landlord who used to be enthusiastic, but is now so rarely seen he might just be as real as Bigfoot or Nessie. However, he pays the bills so we have our fun at his expense and try not to bother him too much in case he decides we are ...

Re: Creighton's Sells Real Shaving Company

The real loss is tradition. So many famous shaving products are no longer being made by the original maker and are just a familiar label. Whether we liked them or not is not important. Someone did and at least I knew which ones I preferred. It was not all that long ago that the online wetshaving co...

Re: Creighton's Sells Real Shaving Company

There were a few consumers who would rather petrify than adapt. No biggie for the other 99.9% of consumers. I think that is a very important observation indeed, and applies to a lot more than just wetshaving products. The entire wetshaving products industry is now at a tipping point. It is transfor...

Re: Threads in each section that ask for daily posting

We have long standing members who rarely posted here in recent years yet have returned to post in these "use of the day" threads. Certainly we cannot say their posts are of no value simply because they are not more informative. I agree with you completely in that regard. Forums where most...

Re: Creighton's Sells Real Shaving Company

It's too early since the deal is not scheduled to be completed until the end of May. Well, let's hope for the best. In the long run, it is not really worth losing any sleep over the matter. Other than petitioning the acquiring company not to change the formulation, there is little we can do. Given ...

I am not sure if they still have the balm in the original scent, but the alcohol based aftershave has not changed a bit. You might try asking Shoebox Shaveshop.

I have used L'Occitane Cade and found it to work very well. Smells great and is excellent all around. It lasts a long time, too.

Anyone know what specific "dangerous" ingredients the Europeans have managed to ban are being considered for exclusion from U.S.-made products? Tallow, lanolin, olive oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, glycerin, lye, fragrance of any sort, rhassoul and kaolin clays, and any other elements...

Collins is an embarrassment to our state and I've told her that. This is just more of the same. And Sen. Feinstein is an embarrassment to our state. Apparently the two have nothing better to do than suppressing private enterprise. Shouldn't they be encouraging small businesses instead? My take is t...

So I was mulling over which is more important to me, the lather or the blade. That is like asking which is more important in your car, the engine or the transmission. Both had better be working well or you will have trouble. It is not like one is more important than the other. It is the same with s...

Speaking of retirement, I really "dodged a bullet!" It's only been 2 weeks and I just found out my old department is being "reorganized." My old boss is now assigned to "Special Projects" (which is a euphanism for "we're not going to fire you right away but you be...
