It's an Italian soft soap with an almond scent. I had read some comments on some of the Italian shaving forums about this soap and was ...

Someone in Germany seems pretty good too! http://www.davinci-defet.com/deutsch/kosmetikpinsel/pinselvideos/uomo-rasierpinsel-293-.html Well have to say that the knot making is following the traditional method to a degree. After tying the lady is using a strange method by turning the knot in mid air...

Gary, as with everyone, your postings have been read with great pleasure and look forward to hearing more stories. If I were allowed one question, it would be this: Seeing how the brush making business has bounced back a bit due to the internet, and knowing how to make a knot for a shaving brush, ha...

Over 35 years of shaving, that's well over 12,000 shaves. And for argument sake, if the brush was $350 new, that's only $10 a year to pay for the brush. Either way you stack it up, the economics of such a brush ends up being a mere pittance.

There is a cost factor to consider also, no?

Quite frankly, I can't afford hones, but paste and an extra fabric I can.

To the OP There are a few things to consider (or that I would consider) For ~$20 you can send it out and have someone re hone it, that would give you piece of mind that its sharp. Do you have a linen and a diamond spray, or an extra strop or something to help keep that blade sharp? Does your current...

Phil, I've been eying up that Vie Long 16726. Doesn't seem to get much air time though. The Vie-Long 16726 is a very nice brush but it differs considerably from Rooney and Simpson. It is not as dense and stiff as the two band Simpson Brushes but it does have pretty good backbone and very good flow ...
