Keep up the exercise & good diet. Statins have been around a long time and it is pretty much universally agreed within medical circles that they are beneficial - take them as they're preventative medicine. As to the green tea etc sure do that as well if you wish (belt & braces) but not inste...

Dave, That Palmolive is good stuff & so are those Tesco blades...., here's a tip, if you live near a TKMaxx then keep an eye out as they often sell Taylors of Bond Street shaving creams at half or less RRP. Ebay can be a good place to buy 'no-name' un-used badger hair shaving brushes - don't buy...

Lots of good advice above. IMO the two most important things to get right for a smooth shave is the 'wetness' of the foam and 'stretching' your skin as you go ..., i.e. pull some funny faces and use your other hand to stretch the skin on your face. I've dug-out my old instruction sheet - and with a ...

I have a rotation of four mechanical watches - only one of which is an automatic. For that one I too have looked to get a watch winder, but I've found them either outrageously expensive, bulky or just plain 'tacky' - sometimes all three. Winders are neither good nor bad for a watch - and anyway in r...

The NEW's are great - probably Gillette best range of razors..., the earlier New Improved razors aren't bad either and shimming 'Old Style' combs does improve the shave no-end. Unfortunately you can't buy a really good modern comb - the Merkur & Muhle-Pinsel look the part, but they're based on G...

I would look at something other than the razor - I would review your lathering - too much cream possibly and not a wet enough foam.

Also you don't need a slant to cut in the same way.

For the last few months I've been using a lot of Merkur blades ..., I'm clearing the last of my stock ..., when I'm finished I won't be buying any more as IMO they're pretty mediocre and definitely expensive.

Tesco & Swedes are much nicer.

I think that Indian "Gillette" is the same one as that sold in the UK by Boots ..., although I've never bought one as it looks to be cheap & nasty.

That razor has been available in the UK for at least 20 years - it has a heavy handle but the real spoiler is the cap as it is plastic. If the cap were metal die-cast then Wilkinson would have a razor worth buying...., at the moment it is a bit of a novelty bought by those who don't know any better....

My father gave me his Parker 51 & it has become one of my most treasured possesions - my brother is the Fountain Pen geek and he pointed out that it is a bit of a classic in pen circles. I'd recommend you buy a good clean example or reconditioned Parker 51 - it will hold it's value. I have two M...

I agree with Seamus - An open-comb as good as the NEW Belmont (it has the diamond pattern) is most definately for using & not just the display case.
