Re: FS- Taylor Barbers' Soap w/lanolim

it's so mild it's difficult to tell. it doesn't offend and is like a very mild mwf absent of the perfuminess, with a faint sense of cardboard :)

Re: bk8 silvertip

ron, i've had 2 thaters and they were vastly different from each other. the 3 banded thater was the softest bristle brush i've ever experienced. the finast bristle was more like a 2 band brush. both were more dense than the kent. if i would rate my current brushes they would be: soft tips, 1) savile...

Re: bk8 silvertip

my bk8 arrived today! some say the bk8 is too large. not for me it ain't! it's not as dense as a shavemac or savile row but more similar to a vulfix. i immediately took it to a shaved puck of arko. not a difficult job for a first lather and found the brush to make lather easily and with a very good ...

Re: the FAT

i like mwf since i realized you really have to load the brush well. but,,it seems that mfw has the most cushion of any product i've tried. so much so, that i don't get a close shave. anyone else with this experience??

Re: Both Simpsons and Kent advised me to...

i do circular and finish with a paint brush stroke with each application. circular is rewarding, sensually, but paint brush strokes seem to unload the lather better.

Re: Long Handled Brush - Reco Needed!

steve, i usually prefer a 26-28mm. knot. my long handle shavemac is a 22x60 and am suprised that seems as larg as the other brushes. you are familiar with a shavemc knot so i assume you can expect the same king of density and face feel. the other brush you mentioned, especially the rooney, will be a...

thumbs up for harry's!!

i tried the razor and cartridge blades from harrys.com and must say i was impressed. i was looking for a brainless, effortless type of shave a cartridge can deliver. the gillette proglide was ok but didn't give a close shave as a de does and the price was stupid, to say the least ;-). i was hoping h...

Re: Short lofted boars

i prefer the feel of my omega boar over any of my badgers but the badgers make a better lather and hold more lather also. the only exception is when i use the palmolive shave stick. i shred it into a bowl. with the boar it makes a really great lather. as good as a badger can do.
