Re: Brick and mortar store

I really think the wetshaving community is poorly serviced by B&M stores in most areas. How hard would it be to get distributor discounts if I wanted to start a small store for gentlemen's goods? You really need to be selling something that generates sales to make something like this work. Clot...

Honestly?? Swarovski is the artistic division at Corning, pretty local to me. For that kind of money, or not much more, I suspect you'd be able to get something bespoke from a Swarovski artist.

Have a look at face lathering when you use cream also. It works better for that too. Maybe a stupid question--when face lathering a cream in a tube, how do you load the brush? Put the snurdle in the bristles, or kind of smear it on your face with one finger or what? I snurdlize the bristles, start ...

Works equally well for creams. Just start things very minimally in your palm, then apply to face

Go for it. Go in, don't mention that you're a shave enthusiast, or use a DE, or whatever. Don't ask for a close shave. Go in, and let the barber give you the shave he wants to give you. Lay back and enjoy it. If you're prone to ingrowns in a certain area, you might let him know that. Anything else, ...

Well, if it smelled nice, it wouldn't be a good stand in for Palmolive!!

You paid too much, but not enough too much to make it worth kicking yourself. In fact, add $6 shipping to any price you see online before comparing. The razor is a fine razor, and if you aren't getting great shaves yet, you will with some experience (especially once you get past the Merkur blades yo...

Scott - a nice idea, but it makes it your responsibility to pay up front for all the brushes, then get fifty payments from fifty people, then ship fifty brushes from your house when they come in, and then field sixty-five complaints about how slow you are and where's my brush. Wholesale prices come...

As long as someone is mentioning it, a group buy of D3's would certainly interest me. None of this "10% savings" stuff, though. If we could put together a buy of 50 brushes or so, especially if we handled individual shipping at this end, I'd think we'd be in a 20%-30% discount range. If we...

I like the moisturizing shave cream. Makes a great substitute for the no-longer-available Palmolive, which was a locally available cream that you could walk into a store and buy. Real Shave is one of the few creams of mine that I still use, next to untouched T&H and Trumpers.

But the Fusion handle is likely a loss leader.
