Wendell,

You probably are already fully aware they're in Ottawa. Went to a Shopper's Drugmart close to Bank Street and (Laurier???) just last week and picked up a reformulated white Proraso soap. They had the green reformulated but no sandalwood.

Good times indeed - even in the 613! :-)

You can also find the new reformulations at: Marché Milan (red cream) and Adonis (green cream) for under 7 dollars. I am still searching for the tub locally w/o success.

I'd say that if you've found the tech as a good head you'll always be coming back to it. You might as well begin enjoying the journey of RAD. I started with Merkur 3 piece. Then the futur...then the comb..then the slant...the EJ...the Goodfella...the R41 (still feeling that one)...the Fatip...then l...

Horse hair does produce a rich soap lather. They are making quite the comeback as of late.

I would recommend a Semogue 620. When broken in it becomes quite soft.

Rico, I too find Derbys to being inconsistent. I actually began a quest to find replacements and while I can suggest some pretty nice blades (samplers experience only) but Astras are my other bulk purchase experience. You will like Astras. Mind you, I also am one who believes (as stated on this foru...

I concur on the Astras. They are quite good for me. Was sent Shark blades as well from a fellow shaver from the UK and they were surprisingly good.

My overall favorite is the Gillette Tech if I am clean shaven. I find the Tech head particularly effective at shaving the hair under the nose and in the cleft area. If I am sporting a goatee then pretty much any razor will do. Note: On Ebay I am noticing many vintage Tech razors that haven't been us...

Always like to get into a conversation 3 years after the fact. Just bought both the Lord tech and the Premium from Amazon.ca. Both are pretty good. I especially like the Tech. One needs to be careful to ensure both sides of the blade are properly aligned but the shave (use Shark and Astras) is very ...

If open comb is your thing I would suggest a Fatip off of EBay. They (the Picccolo and Grande) can be had quite economically.

Jeff,

When you say readily available are you saying these NEW Proraso creams are now at the Pharmaprix/Shopper's Drug Mart? I have yet to see them.

I heard some bad reviews about the Body Shop shampoos so...I bought some anyway. I had a moment of regret but within days I began to actually like their line. I have a sensitive scalp and occasionally (especially in the summer) I am prone to getting the occasional folliculitis. Haven't seen any sinc...

For me at least this point is moot considering that an Arko stick at 1.00$ CAD (in my neck of the woods) is now officially cheaper than Williams.

I just pulled the trigger on 2 brand new Fatip razors on ebay (UK) - 80$ CAD. Unless there's a bad surprise with customs/duties coming my way this appears to be a good deal.

Irisch Moos but like already mentioned it has a convenient container. I don't even apply the soap on my face first as most recommend. I follow the process as seen on youtube by Turkish and/or North African barbers. It works for me.
