I have to say that for me a change in blades has made a significant difference in the comfort and closeness of the shave. After a # of months using Merkur, Derby and Wilkinson I was getting a little discouraged. The quality of the shave just wasn't on a par with the effort I was making. About a mont...

Have been using the Moss Scuttle for a # of weeks now. It has added significantly to the shaving experience. I have had good success creating warm lather using various creams and an occasional soap. Brush and lather are warm for 3 full passes and a touch up. Just 1 more reason to keep with the wet s...

Dave, I'm having similar thoughts about the DE. Love the great scents, SMF II brush, Moss scuttle, Merkur long handle and lots of other good stuff found via this forum. After about 4+ months with the DE just not sure the shave is substantially closer or more comfortable than my M3. Work is going to ...

I got the mug shown at this link a little while ago and it works well for me.
It has a nice handle and place to put your thumb while working up a lather.
Haven't used the brush or soap shown with it.

Wet Shaving = Younger Looking
Been wet shaving for about 3 months now. A woman that I haven't seen for at least 6 months came to my office this week. At the end of our meeting, which was focused on her taxes, she told me my face looked younger!!!!!!!! Now if I can only get the rest of my body to catch up.

Ace -- I also am new to DE shaving, and on a lark, I followed your old formula and bought a tube of KOS gel yesterday, which I used this morning with my old M3. I have to say, the results were quite good, in terms of the closeness of the shave and the absence of irritation. I also was able to bang ...

Guys, Thanks for the tips. I'm enjoying experimenting with different products and techniques. After many years of the same old cold gel the many different scents and products available for wet shaving are a treat. (although I have added a new cabinet in the bathroom to store everything). I'm putting...

Enjoying my second month of wet shaving, but....
I just don't seem to be getting the same feeling of slickness/lubrication that I used to get with KOS gel and the M3. I'm using a quality razor, blade, brush and various soaps, creams and experimenting with oils and the Nivea cream mentioned by Big Ren. I am however enjoying the daylights of the sce...

Ryan, I'm only about 5 - 6 weeks into wet shaving myself. Glad I made the change from a Mach3 and KOS gel. Very much enjoying the different shave soaps which I apply with a Vulfix # 2234 that I bought off the classicshaving.com web site for about $60. The Vulfix is my first ever shaving brush and I ...

Re: How long does it last?
Hello Gents, 2nd post here.... I am new to the DE/soap/brush thing. I am curious about how long a large cake (3 3/4 OZ) of Col. Conk Amber soap usually lasts with reqular daily use? I am just curious how long it will take me to use up my first cake so I know when to order more for reserve. Thanks, ...
