First shave with a Feather blade...
... and it was the smoothest, most effortless, "easiest" shave I've ever had.

DE shaving is officially "hip"
I subscribe to www.uncrate.com, which is a site dedicated to the newest in technology, style, and gear. They recently featured the Merkur 34C.

It looks like DE shaving is on its way to a comeback (not that it ever left).

Home Hot-Lather Machines? Improvement or Gimmick?
After reading a post about canned goo, I'm just wondering what everyone thinks of this device: http://www.allbrands.com/images/products_main/M_11982_HLM10.jpg The home hot-lather machine. I remember owning one in undergrad, and at the time, it was the best present I have ever received. I probably wo...

I used to have the same problem. What worked for me was changing my routine: 1) In the shower, I pre-soak my beard with Trader Joe's shaving cream. (it was a gift from my future mother in law. It's not great to shave with, but excellent as a pre-shave) 2) I use a pre-shave oil from eshave and leave ...

My future mother-in-law bought me some of the Trader Joe's shaving cream a while ago. Though alone it's no where near the quality of shave that a good soap or cream produces, I discovered that if I leave it on while in the shower to soften my beard, then proceed with my regular shaving routine, it p...

Personna platinum
As a newer DE shaver, I'm slowly cycling through my razor sampler kit from westcoastshaving.com. This week I started on the Personna Platinum blades... very very nice. Perhaps it's partially due to improved shaving technique, but I have absolutely no nicks and no burn whatsoever. My face is back to ...

best way to dry a shavemac brush?
Gentlemen,
I've been using a shavemac finest brush based on recommendations I read on this site. I don't have a stand yet. Should I invest in one? Or is it ok to dry the brush on its end?
Thank you in advance.

A milder Proraso?
Gentlemen, I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a Eucalyptus & Menthol soap that is just a little milder than Proraso. I do enjoy Proraso, and it's pretty invigorating, but since I'm still learning my shaving method, it tends not feel too great after a nick or two (or three). Tha...

Hydrolast Starter Kit (CLOSED)
Gentlemen, I have a Hydrolast Starter kit (Shave Cloth, Primer/Soap, 2oz Shave Paste, Cutting Balm) that was used only once that I would like to sell or trade. I'm new to the single-blade shaving world and would like to try as many things as I can. The scent of the primer soap is "sea mist.&quo...
