Harper, I've used a Trac II on and off for decades, more off than on. They never fail to cause one or more bumps. It's a guarantee, I've found. I picked up two of the first iKons when they first came out. One had uneven blade gap and the other was way too mild. It made a Gillette Tech feel aggressive. The 404 mix is a great brush for the price. Mine seems to have more boar than badger hairs and I would not consider it a scrubby/scratchy brush.
