The black package says, "Feather, Hi Stainless, Double Edge" and it is black and silver with a downward pointing triangle and no Japanese writing.

Thanks everybody!

Feather Blades

Quick question: Is there any difference between the Feather blades packaged in yellow vs black? I love these blades the most, and found a great deal on the "black package," but want to make sure they are as good as the yellow ones I bought from West Coast Shaving. Any information would me ...

Well, Gordon, you have far my experience in these things than me, so I will monitor that situation armed with your comments. I will say, though, that I am fairly "heavy handed" myself with other razors. It is always difficult for me to simply "let the razor do the work." This is ...

Holy Grail?

After a year of pursuit, I have found it for now. In my humble opinion, the Cobra by Classic Shaving is the best, closest shave this side of a straight razor and I don't see how a straight could be too much closer. In the past year, I have tried about every DE that matters from Merkur and Gillette, ...

Aaron, I am new to the Schick's myself, but I have done a bit of research on this. On the model you are describing, the spring is fixed. You can twist it by forcing it, but that is not the design. There are other models where the spring does turn and release the head and there is the one you have wh...

I figured it might take awhile to find DB. I have a similar model now, so I am enjoying the shaves while I wait. The model I have is not "Hydro Magic," which seems like a very useful feature.

Thanks!

Thanks to everybody for the information. I think I have figured it out in regards to the spring... The photo posted by Ron is the "E 1 or 2" model. It is the butterscotch bakelite that I use, which does have a sliding spring to open the razor up. I prefer it, so that I can easily clean it....

Schick Question...

I was bitten by the DE bug about 8 months ago and thought I had it down to my favorite razor - i.e. Gillette Super Adjustable - and routine, etc. And then, I tried a Schick Injector and got a super close shave with little to no effort. My question is simply if any model stands out above the rest. I ...

So bummed...

On the recommendation of some in here, I bid on a Shick Krona this morning on eBay. It was "brank spanking new" in the original packaging, never opened, pristine! Being new to eBay, I placed my bid in the last few seconds, but forgot that I had to "confirm" my bid, so I lost out....

Thanks ya'll. I did confirm that there are two lengths, which seem to be kind of long and longer.

I am going to try to find one and give it a shot. I have found that I prefer Gillette's until something else makes a bigger impact.

Take care,

Gillette Super Adjutable - Part II

I believe there are two handle lengths available. Any comments on the longer or shorter, since they both seem longer than most vintage razors?

Thanks!

Gillette Super Adjustable v. Gillette Super Slimtwist

Any feeback on these two?

Currently, I use a 1965 Slim and I am very happy, but wanted to branch out and try one, or both, of these. I may be a bit confused about the difference.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What I have learned....

I got bit with the DE bug about six months ago and, finally, feel like I might be able to contribute something meaningful. Thanks to all the "old pros" like Squire and others who have helped along the way. In a nutshell, after having bought and tried almost every Merkur product - i.e Futur...
