Thanks everyone for your thoughts during this difficult time. I will be opening my shop next week. We have family plans on Monday and my son has a medical appointment on Tuesday out of town so I figured after that would be a good time to start. I knew I was going to be away from home quite a bit and...

The scent is either you love it or hate it for most. But it's most definitely worth buying and trying out. If your unsure of the scent maybe you know someone who would be willing to slice off a tiny sliver off a puck and mail to you for you to smell first. But performance wise, it's great stuff !!!

Krissy - If you look closely you'll see 3 or 4 of your shaving soaps as well as your Spiced Rum & Rose aftershave balm. They are some of my favorite soaps and balms. Top notch stuff!!! I missed those in awe of your collection. It's such an honor to provide something that you enjoy. Someday I ho...

Hi Bill, UND is a great place to go to college, and they have an awesome hockey team. We have tickets for this weekend game. Well I'm staying home with my youngest because she wouldn't tolerate the noise so my oldest is taking a friend in my place. Where my hubby works, they buy several season ticke...

Blue Jewel, considering Winnipeg is a little north of us, so I had to check out accuweather for Cando. We closer than you think with a wind chill of -31 out right now... *yikes* Being it's a holiday I don't have to go out, so I won't..... with more snow on the way.

Thanks Squire and Bill, I'm from a little bitty town called Cando. Where our town motto is "You Can Do It Better In Cando".... But it's north west of Devils Lake about 30 miles. Which is directly to the west of Grand Forks on hwy 2. Or about 140 miles total from Grand Forks. I do get to Gr...

Prairie Creations or PC for short, intro

Hey everyone, For those that don't know me yet, I'm Krissy and I run Prairie Creations otherwise shortened down to PC a lot of times. I make a lot of bath and body products and they are all made from scratch. I don't use any premade bases or melt and pour glycerin type soaps. Everything starts out a...

As a side note, I've never heard of any actual proof that parabens cause cancer. It's a very hot topic with people on each side of the story. But last I heard the cancer society didn't support the theory. I'm a big fan of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN as I have seen first hand at what they can do ...

I have no clue what my grandfather might have used on my mothers side of the family. All I remember him using was an electric and he's been gone for a number of years now. But the grandfather on my hubbies side, he did use a straight razor as that was something that my hubby inherited from his paren...

I do the same thing. I try to keep all variables the same including watching the clock to see how long I'm loading my brush if I'm using a solid soap.

I second the recommendation of Prairie Creations shave soap. I have several of them and the performance equals that of the old-line soaps. I would recommend sticking to "basic" scents as Krissy's interpretations may not match what you imagine the scent to be from it's description. Perform...

Hi Everyone, I'm krissy, I thought I would join so I could answer some questions. Gary, it's another enterprising soapmaker. http://www.prairie-creations.com Kris must make very small batches, or she wouldn't allow the customer to choose the base ingredients. Followed the link and noticed a shaving ...
