That is my razor!!! I knew it was a tech, and I new it was made in England. But how do you find out the date? My razor is identical to the one pictured. Did they make it in any other years?

Thank, and it is a great razor.

Marty, my benefactor sent in the gift package some astras (the best blade I think out of the bunch), Treets, and brands I'd not heard of like Big Ben, Crown, and Silver Star. I cannot recall all the blades there were over thirty blades from nearly a dozen brands. I was in Walmart and saw a package o...

Hey - Marty! The brush has worked great! The hairs began to soften and split by the 4th shave. I have had no complaints or a desire to switch it out as of yet. I might get a badger brush in the future to compare - but because they will be at such different price points any comparison may be unfare. ...

Just bought my first sample pack!

Just bought my first sample pack! I've been wet shaving with a gifted kit from a fellow shave-my-facer back in October last year. Along with a lovely Gillette fat end tech (I love this razor), he sent me a plethora of blades - some of notable quality, others of dubious origin. During the past six mo...

Still new to wet shaving - but just bought my first soap

I started wet shaving around November last year - my kit is a 1950's or 60's gillette tech, a big omega boar brush...I didn't buy any of this - when I was inquiring about a kit a fellow shave-my-facer gifted this kit to me, along with a bunch of different blades. The soap he sent was honeybee's drag...

Awesome read, Pat.

Funny enough, I was smoking a Perdomo Habanero last night, considering the morning shave!

I like sports - kind of. I was a fan of the yankees growing up - I was slightly interested in the World Series, watched, and even went to that damnedable parade, haha. Sorry about the litter. But generally, no, pro sports does not hold my interest except for: College football - GO ARMY! Mixed Martia...

I will preface this with: I am not a lawyer, or have any experience in the law. Is the noise unbearable? Is this happening on late Sunday mornings/ afternoons or is it happening at evenings while you are trying to sleep? Also, have you spoken directly to your neighbor? A face to face talk would go a...

NYC get together.

This topic has been brought up, and the idea has been kicked around that some regional meetings be organized. I propose a meeting in NYC to all those in the metro-area on a Friday - Saturday. Anyone interested, please reply to the thread with your interest and when in the next coming weeks/months ar...

Prohibition of hand guns? The man was a Maj. in the Army, lol! If anyone should be allowed a fire arm it should be our military. That piece of information is the most disturbing to me. As a member of the New York Army National Guard, reports of fratricide move me deeply. We have so many enemies in f...

I suggest that anyone wishing to organize a regional get together start an individual thread in the gentleman's parlor. I will post "NYC Get together." I am very new to D/E wet shaving, and if a more seasoned hobbyist could reccomend a trip to store that cater's to our interest; then lunch...

I am all for the idea. Regional meetings sound the most pragmatic.

Metro New York area, anyone?

From one new shaver to another- I just started wet shaving a week ago. I have 6 or 7 d/e shaves under my belt. I was here, like you, asking, "what razor, what brush"..et cetera. I was studying everything from the weight / length of the razor, to reviewing blades...and all of my studying wa...

Hello all- I've been lurking around for a couple weeks here: posting questions, replying to a few off topic discussions in Cologne/ Aftershave and the Gentleman's Parlor. I had posted some questions on soap, brushes, and razors as I was mentally putting together my first shave kit. I was almost set ...

Old Spice aftershave...

I have the fondest memories of my father...and grandfather wearing this after shave. I can see my dad pooling some in the palm of his hand, rubbing his hands together and slapping himself and rubbing his hands into his cheeks and throat. Are there any fans here who use this classic (and incredibly c...

It is x-mas at my house today!

Marty's care package has arrived filled with the Omega 48 (softer than I imagined) a sampling of several blades, a shave soap (honey bees shave soap) and a vintage gillette.

I am humbled by his gift.

Thanks Marty,
